Kicked an elbow today. 😭😭😭 That shit hurts so bad. I kept training, but man that sucked. My coach said I have good mechanics, but I'm not using them. He kept instructing me to keep my leg slightly bent when kicking and try to kick through the target. I really do struggle on getting power into my rear kick. I need to work on it.

I have the same issue when kicking. I've found that if before throwing a roundhouse kick, if I twist my hips initially in the opposite direction of the kick, and use that motion as a spring to bounce back my hips and throw the kick that way, I can generate far more explosive kicking power than if I just throw the kick piecemeal.

I like to see that kind of aggression.

I like to use that much aggression myself when in a fight. I'm not as eager to have it used against me. But I'd rather fight a worthy foe anyway.

(Up until now, though, most of the fights I've been in have been one-sided street- & hallway-fights where I lured an assailant into a kill box & then attacked them from the flanks, using guerrilla tactics, and the other side was unable to respond.)

I can't wait to be in a more evenly-matched, more honorable, ring combat fight. I'm not saying I'm done with the guerrilla tactics (cue airsoft memes) but I don't want to be seen as a coward who can dish it out but not take it in.
