adirairisselwyn:
Adira was beyond grateful to be back at Hogwarts, instead of holed up in her room home at Selwyn Manor. There, she felt so isolated from the world. So she was in relatively good spirits with Vale marched up to her on her way back from her classes. “Hello, Vale. My break went well. Thank you so much for asking,” she teased, holding her new book closer to her chest. “A new year seems like a good time to learn some manners and realize that Cassian is my friend, but nice effort.”
“A new year is also a good time to forget small talk. It still dumbfounds me what you find so appealing about him.” He said nonchalantly, before making himself comfortable in the seat across from her. “Is it the way he talks like he’s from the last century? Or is it the way he’s always got his nose on a book. Seriously, Selwyn, enlighten me because this is a mystery to me.”
alexandra-rivers:
Alex laughed as the man jumped up, the whole situation being all too fascinating for her to pass this up. “No no, go on. It’s fun seeing you try and come up with excuses.” She mused, walking over to the nearest desk and sitting down on it. “So what is it? You’re definitely not studying for exams. Or is your own bed not good enough anymore? Cause that can be sorted out.”
Vale ran his palm over his face to get rid of whatever remained of his tired facade before crossing his arms over his chest. “I don’t have excuses.” He said, wondering how late or early it was. “That part is obvious, and my bed is just fine.” Vale said with a shrug. “Now before you try to sell me a mattress or whatever it is you are trying to do, what’s the time?”
liljuliet:
After seeing someone she really didn’t want to bump into, Juliet found herself slipping into an empty classroom in an attempt to hide out for a while. It wasn’t like she really needed to go to Transfiguration class anyway. However, she noticed the room was already occupied. As the other jolted awake and began to ramble before she even opened her mouth, laughter escaped from her lips. “Dude! I didn’t even ask.” An amused smirk tugged at her lips. “Are you alright there? You look a little flustered.”
Vale seldom felt embarrassed but that one mistake was starting to play a number on him. He fixed his shirt as his eyes tried to readjust to the light, quietly still trying to figure out how he has managed to fall asleep. “Flustered? I don’t know what that means. Has anyone taught you to knock though? You could have walked in on something indecent.”

“Here’s the thing asshole, mountain trolls are tall and huge and stupid. If anything you are the troll, and definitely not my favourite. I’d rather have an actual trolls company.” she said in irritation. “I am not going anywhere, if you want why don’t you get the hell away from me. The troll stench coming from you is nauseating.”
“Sorry? You are still talking, why are you talking?” Vale said, looking down at her before flashing her a smile. “Oh come on, get over yourself, you will always be a troll to me.” He commented with a laugh that faltered as soon as it came out of his mouth. “Now seriously though; get lost.”
maximacmillan:
Some days, Max just wanted to try working on assignments on his own, without having people look at him like something was wrong; or take pity and propose help - especially if it was a younger student. So he opted for an empty classroom, or so he thought. He was a little surprised to see Mulciber there, and couldn’t help asking why he apparently slept there. And the answer only made him raise an eyebrow. “Whatever you say, mate.”
“Exactly whatever I say,” Vale replied as he buttoned up his shirt. “You can’t just walk around like you own the castle because of two reasons. One, I already do that and there can only be one of me. Two, you could have walked on me and someone else and I don’t think your virgin eyes could have handle that much excitement. Three, why are you here?”
Vale was usually good at going back to his room every morning after spending his nights roaming the castle. It was known to be his favorite method of relaxation but that night sleep got the best of him and he ended up falling asleep in an empty classroom, waking up in a jolt only after he heard the door opening. "What do you mean what am I doing here? I fell asleep so that’s- why am I even giving you an explanation. I don’t care what you think.”

"If it isn’t my least favorite mountain troll.” Vale said the moment he spotted Claire. “So my resolution for this year is to pretend you don’t exist, your presence it’s making is difficult to stick to that, so can you try to apparate elsewhere and splinch while you are at it?”
@clairexparks
The holidays had been tiring, just to say the least. Vale never enjoyed being at home since the people there weren’t as easy to mess with as those in school. And out of all people to pester, Adira was his favorite. “It’s a new year, I wonder if perhaps you are finally going to bring it upon yourself to be normal and stop hanging around with my brother?”

sybillltrelawneys:
“Vale, please don’t do that.” she replied with a shake of her head. He knew what she meant. he always knew what she meant. When he pretended that he didn’t know what was upsetting her, it only hurt more. She was an easy to read book, especially for him. Acting as though there was nothing wrong and she was just reading into it made her doubt herself. Made her feel like maybe she was just going crazy. But she wouldn’t allow it to go that way.
“You walking isn’t the problem. You ignoring me is the problem.” Sybill fell silent for a moment, just looking at him as she tried to find the words to say. “You can sleep with me but you can’t acknowledge that I exist outside of that?” Reconnecting with him had been a mistake. Telling him that she still wanted him had been a mistake. And perhaps him telling her that he still wanted her was a lie.
“You never ignored me this completely. Why now? What did I possibly do that I don’t deserve to be acknowledged anymore?” the blonde asked. Her hands shook at her sides. “I just…I don’t want you to ignore me.”
“Well what do you want me to say?” A huge wrong buzzer went off on his head after the words left him. He couldn’t walk around pretending what he was doing was right. Vale understood he was hurting her but being unable to freely talk about his reasons why was always going to stop him from telling her the truth. A sigh left him then as he sat on the edge of a desk. “You are right,” he said with a nod. “I shouldn’t ignore you. I don’t meant to just do it but I’m a selfish prick.” It was quite obvious he wan’t thinking about what he was saying but he didn’t want her to look into his words and decipher something she shouldn’t.
“You haven’t done anything either, it’s just me. It’s always me. Just... don’t get upset, please.” It was difficult saying that while still trying to retain his composure so he shook his head before standing back up. “Maybe we shouldn’t meet anymore. I really don’t want to hurt you and though the things that I told you the night of the attack are true, we both know I don’t deserve you. You don’t need any of this.”
@mulciverish
She could claim that when he came back to her room after the masquerade ball that she didn’t expect to sleep with him but that would have been a lie. Sybill knew what she was doing the moment the door closed behind them. And it had, of course, happened again in the weeks since. She didn’t expect much from Vale as they weren’t together and she wasn’t expecting that to change but hadn’t expected him to ignore her around school. Even in the years since their breakup he had never truly and completely ignored her. Only being acknowledged when they were in bed was more than a bit frustrating.
They were the only two in the hallway, and he barely glanced at her as he brushed past. A frown settled on her lips as she turned. Sybill wrapped a hand around his wrist and pulled him into an empty classroom and closed the door behind them.
“Vale what are you doing? Why don’t you talk to me?” The hurt was clear on her face.
Ignoring Sybill was not an easy task for Vale, but it was always easy to pretend to not care when they weren’t physically intertwined. The holidays had given him some times to step away from his problems, but being back at Hogwarts meant being always on high alert. He couldn’t risk getting her involved in his wrongdoings and he couldn’t bring himself to tell her the truth. It always came down to that same vicious cycle, so he decided it was better to ignore her completely.
That night he had just finished his rounds and though he was not purposefully looking for Sybill he still managed to find her. Or did she find him? It was hard enough to walk past her pretending she wasn’t there, so he didn’t fight her when she grabbed his wrist and pulled him into the empty classroom.
“What do you mean?” Vale asked far too calmly while running his fingers through his hair, all in attempt to hide how he actually felt inside. He hated seeing her upset but he couldn’t find the right words to say to excuse his actions. “I was just walking, didn’t think that’d be a problem.”
“Wouldn’t you want that? Last time I drank, I almost ceased to exist.”
