“Well, still,” Juliet laughed, “Ah screw people and their opinions. People only judge because they’re not satisfied with their own lives and feel the need to take it out on others.”

“guess you’ll have to find out,” rita shrugged coyly, laughing at the others face and taking another bean from the bag, looking at it cautiously before popping it into her mouth - leather. making her own face, she washed away the taste with a drink, sighing. truthfully, the last thing on her mind was extracting any type of information - and yet, she stowed it away anyway. “yeah, well,” the blonde muttered, “ask anybody else here, they’d disagree with you.”

“Perhaps,” Juliet shrugged her shoulder, before letting out a laugh. “Some of these are revolting, I don’t get why I like them so much.” She admitted, shaking her head in amusement. However, her laughter faded as the other spoke. “Fuck everyone else. Other people’s opinions shouldn’t matter. Besides, Rita, they only think that because you show them this dumb facade.”

“Will you actually let me speak before you harass me?” Juliet pulled a face, rolling her eyes fondly as she reached into the small clutch hanging at her side. She pulled out a large box, handing it to him. “Undetectable extension charm. Did you really think I’d be your friend for this many years and show up to your wedding empty handed??? I have a bone to pick with you by the way - bit short notice, mate.”

While she’d arrived with Julian, she’d left him briefly to give Sirius the gift she’d brought, and wanted to congratulate him in person. It wasn’t long before she was looking for the other again, face lighting up as she saw him. Bouncing over, Juliet grinned up at Julian, “Hey stranger, miss me?” She teased, handing him a drink she’d picked up on her way over.

rita chewed on the inside of her cheek as juliet leaned closer, forcing her gaze to stay on the others eyes. “then they wouldn’t be surprises, would they?” she quipped with a chuckle. that turned into a full on laugh when juliet made a face at the beans, the blonde shaking her head. “no, i promise,” she assured, noticing how the mood had changed drastically since they left the pub. but it had shifted again at the mention of juliet’s mother, and rita looked away for a moment, thinking of her own. “that’s different, i suppose.” she replied quietly. after a moment of silence she looked back up. “my mum left after my baby sister was born.” she admitted. had it not been for the alcohol, it wouldn’t have been said. “but that was her loss.”

“Where’s the fun in that, though?” She mused, pulling a face. “Mhm, not sure if I believe you,” Juliet laughed, picking out another bean before studying it carefully. “Is it?” As the other spoke again, Juliet frowned. “Yeah, that is her loss. My mother was taken from me, wasn’t exactly her choice to be mur-” She cut herself off, realising telling Rita wasn’t probably the best of ideas. “I’m sorry she left. You didn’t deserve that.”

Julian raised his eyebrows, feigning to be offended. “You could never do that.” He stated with a playful grin. “Now, you all should stop that before my ego becomes too big to be controlled.” His eyes trailed down to her lips as she spoke, leaning forward slightly as she moved in to kiss him. His hand reached up to meet her cheek, and he slightly pulled away for a moment. “Maybe you’d like to show me somewhere else?”

“Yeah, you’re right,” Juliet laughed, shaking her head at him. “Hmm, perhaps, but I was always told to be honest,” She mused, lips curving upwards as they moved against his own. “Sounds good to me,” Juliet reached for his hand, interlacing their fingers together before she dragged him away from the party.

“Like I said, doesn’t have to be now. I won’t force you to talk about it, do it when you’re ready. Or… don’t even do it at all, it’s all your decision.” He said with a slow nod, giving her a small smile.

“Do we ever expect people to tell us about their crush? I surely don’t, no matter the situation.” He said, trying to relieve a little bit of tension. “Yeah, that was kind of shitty of you.” He teased with a grin. “But it’s fine, you really shouldn’t worry about it. At least you had the guts to say it in the first place.” He commented, a small smile appearing at her reaction. “Of course, I do. You’re fun, I like hanging out with you.” He said with a nod. “Let’s just… not make this awkward.”

“Thank you, Julian, it means a lot,” Juliet smiled weakly at him, she wanted to tell him everything, there was just something about the other that made her want to open up for once. She just didn’t want to scare him away. 

“Well, you raise a point there,” Juliet laughed quietly, before chewing on her lip. “I really am sorry. If it helped, it sucked ignoring you. It was really hard.” She pouted, shaking her head. “I-- yeah. Surprised I did, honestly,” The last time she’d told someone about her feelings it hadn’t gone well. “Oh.” Juliet blinked at him, having expected him to outwardly reject her. “I-- yeah, no definitely not. We should just continue like normal. Though, maybe we shouldn’t sleep together again. As much as I want to, I don’t want to complicate things,” Juliet mumbled, chewing on her lip, half expecting him to change his mind.

Julian let out a small laugh as she spoke, not having expected her to be this excited to get out of here. But then he realized most people were probably eager to get out of here, so he really shouldn’t be that surprised. “So many questions, so little time.” He joked, even though he knew they’d have the whole day to talk. “But yes, I do know I’m your favorite person. I guess you’re not terrible either.” He teased. “Well, if I tell you, it won’t be a surprise. But you might want to bring your camera. And a change of clothes. We might not be back until tomorrow.” He said before holding out his hand. “So… are you in?”

“You’re right, less time me grilling you and more time you taking me to wherever you’re whisking me away too,” She teased lightly, teeth biting down on her lower lip. “Oh, I’m not terrible am I? I’ll remember that for when it’s your birthday,” She joked with a grin. She pouted when he said he wouldn’t tell her, batting her eyelashes up at him. “Sounds mysterious,” Juliet mused, before taking his hand without hestitation. “Of course I’m in, should I go grab my things now?”

“Honestly?” Dorcas started, shrugging her shoulders before giving the other a small smile. “I kind of always wanted to have a sister.” She admitted, nodding at her words. “Well, I could always… talk to him, public place. Maybe a pub in Hogsmeade?”

“Me too, actually,” Juliet admitted sheepishly, “I’ve always wanted a sibling.” A small smile curved up at her lips. “Oh, that could work. Yeah, let’s do that. We deserve answers.”

Brielle looked up as she saw her friend, a half-smirk forming on her face “I just couldn’t stay away from you, Jules,” she said with a teasing tone. “Beau went on some trip and I didn’t feel like stay home with out parents, so I thought I’d come back. “I don’t blame you,” Juliet teased back with a grin. “Understandable, my uncles were busy so here I am.” The girl shrugged her shoulders, before smirking. “We should go to a muggle club.”

“and many more,” rita winked playfully, feeling that had she not been such a bitch before, her and juliet might actually be quite friendly. she poured a pit of the beans into the girls palm, before popping on into her own mouth - something between a mix of honey and syrup she wasn’t quite sure. “i don’t lose people. people lose me.” she countered confidently, as if that were relevenat when it came to death. 

“Oh really?” Juliet wiggled her eyebrows, leaning closer to the other. “Do tell.” She teased, popping one of the beans into her mouth the second they hit her palm. At the taste, Juliet grimaced, “Ugh, did you give me earwax on purpose?” She wretched, reaching fore the alcohol to drown out the taste. At the girls comment, Juliet’s expression fell. “Yeah, I used to think that. Then my Mum died, so,” She shrugged her shoulders, taking another sip of the bottle. “You saying no one’s ever left you that you regret?”

“mm, ever think you’d see the day?” she asked with a laugh, standing up to rifle through her drawers a bit and pulling out a package of bertie bott’s every flavored beans, settling more comfortably back on her bed. “enlighten me.”

“Definitely not, you’re full of surprises,” Juliet mused, watching the girl as she moved before holding her hand out for some sweets. “Well, loss for one, love, the pressure of today’s society.”

rita supposed that was true; it was rare for her to have a conversation with most girls without insulting them - it came from a place of jealousy, envy, and attracion, really. “complimenting you, actually,” rita chuckled. she was silent a moment as she watched juliet, curious. “…no. but people are a product of what they’re parents make them.” she spoke absently, not thinking too much into the statement.

“Rita Skeeter complimenting me, I think pigs might actually start to fly,” She joked with a laugh. “Not necessarily. I mean, parents shape us, yeah but I like to think other factors play a part in that too.”

to say juliet wasn’t beautiful would be a lie - and despite rita’s inclination to lie, she was not feeling so inclined today. “fine, you’re pretty.” she replied with a slightly amused smile, becoming more comfortable on her bed as she settled against one of the bed posts. “but i haven’t told you anything,” rita shook her head at her words, starting to feel a little light. “did you think me not human, quinn?”

Juliet grinned when the other called her pretty, flipping her hair over her shoulder. “Why thank you,” She mused. “Well, no, but you’re talking and not actually insulting me.” Jules countered, “I had my suspicions.” She joked, “Can you blame me?”

Evan chewed on his lips as she spoke. He wasn’t sure what to think anymore, he wasn’t sure he even was thinking when he did it. His senses had left at that moment, and he’d been struggling to make coherent thoughts since. He’d just hoped telling her would help, but it didn’t feel like it. “I think about it every day, and I wish I never did that. But I can’t take that back.” He felt stupid trying to tell her that. She was right, he’d messed up and he couldn’t fix that. He should just be thankful she wouldn’t report him, and leave. And with her last words, the urge to walk away only increased. “Yeah, I am.” He said after taking a deep breath. “I’m sorry. I’ll make sure you don’t have to talk to me again.” He let out before turning to walk away. No matter how right she was, it didn’t hurt any less, and he wasn’t in the mood to cry in front of her, in front of everyone.
