they call the episode “Squeeze” because she squeezes his upper arm sexily at the end and it’s honestly the ☆☆ breakout moment ☆ ☆

The X-Files: S1E9 ‘Space’
if you ever feel like a failure just remember that the higher ups at the FBI sent Dana Scully down to the basement with the simple task of debunking Mulder’s work and seven years later she emerged having begged to be impregnated with his child
like, the most compelling ships for me always stem out of one thing: the characters have a profound, ongoing effect on each other’s senses of selves. when they are apart, the characters’ actions are still affected by each other. the way they approach the world changes because of the other.
which is this deeply Austenian view of ideal romantic relationships as mechanisms by which we come to know ourselves better and become better versions of ourselves. good romance, for me, is always tied in with a sense of self-actualization, and the way in which a beloved partner allows a person to know themselves better.

Gillian Anderson on the set of The X-Files.
what aspect of mulder/Scully did you latch onto intensely and why is that a sign you should be in a straightjacket or at least mildly tranquilised
little green men is a legit great x-files episode but so many of the details are so (charmingly) weird. the man who throws open mulder’s unlocked apartment door and all he says is “we’re going to the hill.” mulder’s dead serious “I live for bach.” the woman on mulder’s answering machine whose message ends with a sultry “you’re a pig!” and of course the gold standard, “no-ho on the rojo”…. no real conclusion here I just think it’s the perfect season 2 opener because it’s like yes we are operating on a grander scale now but don’t worry we’re not professionals
