Can we talk about those sandals?
Some socks would work nice with them.

The strike continues, week two. I still see people online saying "TV writers are all millionaires. They're paid too much. Go dig ditches or be a nurse... that's real work."
I agree nurses and ditch-diggers should be paid more and I hope their unions are considering a walk out, too.
But most TV writers aren't millionaires, especially not younger ones just starting out. They have second jobs and some are on welfare between gigs. Writing for TV is unstable and months or YEARS can go by between jobs. (Writers not protected by the WGA — like Animation Writers— are even worse off) At the same time Studio CEOs are now BILLIONAIRES.
The contract that the writers are striking for could set a powerful precedent that AI must work for people, rather than being used to margin
The conditions, especially at streaming platforms, are getting worse and LIKE ALL JOBS IN AMERICA, corporations are trying to squeeze as much PROFIT as they can while paying the people who actually DO THE WORK and MAKE THE [PRODUCT] as little as possible.
If you like storytelling... if you like media... support the writers.
Is this how God made fish?

Gender Queer is a remarkable book. And I wish it could be in every library. I'm sure that it has made so many people on similar journeys feel less alone, and also helped the people who love them to understand their journeys better.

Co-hosted by me (house improv team Lil Guy) and Dominque Johnson (house sketch team Dreamboat). RSVP on Eventbrite. Or don’t. It’s cool. Just show up and JAM!

More bizarre ads from FB... what did I click on for their algorithm to show me this?
I logged into tumblr this morning and it feels like it has sprung back to life! People who haven’t posted for years are posting and that makes me happy. Tumblr’s joy quotient was always much better than Twitter’s, and even more so now.
I'm getting some weird ads lately on Facebook. I have questions about this one. It can't be real, but I went to the site, it is.
Is it time to return to Tumblr?
