In a small copse of trees on the edge of Londonʼs North Circular, a group of Roma, Romanian and Bulgarian economic migrants live and die. Nameless and unseen, the city’s eyes are turned elsewhere as the hard truths of survival and isolation play out.

MULO: dead, ghost

A psychologically-haunting drama set among a group if Roma, Romanian and Bulgarian migrants who live in a shanty camp alongside London’s North Circular Rd.The story follows Nicu a young Roma man , injured and unable to work, he tries to survive the harsh life and navigate the bitter choices he has to make in order to support his family.

SYNOPSIS: Muló is a 20-minute supernatural drama set amongst a group of Roma migrants living rough in a hidden makeshift camp on the harsh fringes of London.

The men struggle to survive on meagre earnings as the chill of winter bites the air. Nicu, a young Romanian Roma labourer, is desperate to provide money for his family back home, but he has badly injured his foot and can’t work.

Florin, the fixer, controls the mens work and extorts money from the little they earn. As tensions escalate, Nicu witnesses a murder and trapped in a web of isolation and coercion, he is forced to make a grave decision…with haunting consequences.

MULÓ is a short film finalist of the FILM LONDON Borough Fund it’s crowd funding campaign was launched on the 9th of September 2015. It’s been a busy year and we owe a lot of thanks to the people who have donated money and time to the project. This help means we commence shooting on 2nd of April 2016. Thank you.
