“Y/N?” Dylan’s voice strained through the music and people in the party the two were at.
Standing around on the back porch, Y/N let out a light sigh as she took her third drag of the cigarette she had in between her fingers.
His voice was now clear and closer as he spoke softly, as if he was hurt. “Why are you out here?”
“I just wanted you to have the nice time you were having with the side bitch.” Y/N sassed as her voice remained calm.
“But I didn’t..I don’t-” he sighed, “Are you drunk? Buzzed maybe?”
Y/N peered over at him, keeping her sass, “I dunno, you tell me.” Dylan ran a hand through his hair, looking down, and whispered under his breath,
“Fucking hell.” He looked up from the ground, he took a few steps towards her. When she didn’t react to him, he took more steps forward until he got a grip on her arm.
Already walking to the gate on the backyard fence, Y/N dug the back end of her shoes into the grass and dirt to try to get him to stop. Dylan didn’t bulge, only his grip tightening on her as he opened the gate and went to his car.
He loosened his grip when they were a few steps away from his car, he opened the car door for her and let go of her. Looking up, he watched her intently to see how she would react. Only to get the eyes that he remembered so well looking back at him.
Dylan sighed, “You know I love you right?” this made Y/N get into her side of the car, not even saying one back, but he knew she felt the same. Not wanting to show defeat as she thought she would appear like at that very moment. She was still angry, but she seemed to die down on her sassy remarks.
The drive back was quiet as she slumped in her seat, arms crossed and watching the world go by the windows. Dylan was more confused than angry, but Dylan never would show barely any harm to anyone when he was mad. Definitely not to his girlfriend, if he did, he would even have more of a reason to end his life.
“What was that about?”
Y/N glanced over before looking back at the window. “A girl came up to me and told me that you were cheating on me with another girl..”
“And you believed her?”
“Yes, yeah I did. Anyone would if they heard that, or get a little curious if their lover did cheat on them.” There was a silence in between the two, nothing from the two as she decided to explain more. “Love is what keeps people going, it’s most of our desires in life. We’re driven in this world where we are suspected to date, and date early from the people around us. Most of us get it, but then there are the few in the world who never got it. Maybe even never experienced it.”
Dylan looked over, pulling into the driveway of her house. “So you’re scared you’ll lose me?”
“Yes, because then there won’t be me anymore.”
Sorry for this short one!
