I just watched the finale and holy shit I want my time back. For starters Gooseworkx cannot write women to save her life. How do you create these amazing women (Pomi, Ribbit And Ragatha) , and just center them around a man? I truly believe Gooseworkx just wanted to tell Jax’s story the entire time and just created Pomi as a way to get away with it.
Giving Jax a sad backstory so we feel empathy for him doesn’t work when you don’t give said character any build up or redeemable moments to show the audience. It would have been more effective if we at least saw him try to be good, try to be kind, but no.
If you want to tell a story about an avoidant-unwilling to change- crybaby man, then do so as is your right as a creator, but I guess no one would’ve watched your show if you did?
All of the women/zooble were significantly dumbed down in this finale, Pomni going “I can fix him” pissed me off to no end, Ragatha, Gangle, Zooble and Ribbit blaming themselves for how Jax treated them just simply dosent make sense
If this was written by anyone else Ragatha would’ve learned to fix her people pleasing and be more assertive and upfront (but I guess not since it’s Jax and Friends)
Giving Pomni and Ragatha that moment in the finale doesn’t hit as hard when you don’t put any effort into their relationship- in fact she actively didn’t pursue it in favor of Jax and Pomni
Pomni was giving no character development outside of “Being Jax’s friend/Helping Jax”
If anything it would’ve made more sense to give that plot to Ragatha as both their stories are intertwined.
