The room goes quiet.
The owls stare at her, guns wavering. They're very visibly shaken up - wide-eyed, trembling, and the entire room has turned to look at the Conductor for direction.
...that's a mammal, not a bird. He can't use this.
His posture slackens, and he lets out a sigh that quickly turns into a loud groan.
"CUT!"
The Conductor releases the Express Owl from his headlock, giving him a light pat on the shoulder before lightly pushing him away - the poor guy heaving a sigh of relief before scampering off to sit down - and he approaches the stranger, wiping the blood from his cheek.
With the cameras off and bandanas pulled down, the Express Owls begin to whisper amongst themselves. But as the Conductor speaks, they go quiet.
"Who are you, and WHAT are you doin' on my train?" At least he put the gun away. "Don't you know you're interrruptin' something?"
Mags' eyes dart from bird to bird. She's so tense that she nearly jumps out of her fur when the yellow one cried out. She flinches, preparing for the worst, but when she isn't shot dead she opens her eyes in time to see the other birds begin to disperse.
So the yellow one is in charge. Definitely gonna try to remember that for my next log.
She releases the breath she hadn't realized she was holding. She's about to express her gratitude over not getting pumped full of hot lead when the Yellow One turns their attention back to her and started demanding answers.
Shoot, how was she supposed to respond? There hadn't been any protocol for if she was discovered because - again - she wasn't supposed to be discovered! She nervously wrings her hands, looking around the space she'd ended up, trying to come with a plausible reason for her
"I'm aaaaan inspector," Mags finally replies, fixing her posture to something she hopes comes off as authoritative(chin up, back straight, hands behind her back, feet together). "I've been sent by my superiors to... investigate the state of this whole operation and report back to them!"
It wasn't completely a lie, was it?
