When Charmander children evolve, they immediately receive a boost to their fire-related abilities. This tends to provoke large amounts of excitement and wonder, which can lead to the unfortunate downfall of many newborn Charmeleon. Though Charmeleon are not frail by any means, their fire sprouts much easier--an excited Charmeleon produces flames so brutally hot they can turn a whitish-blue. Fire at this temperature can even be dangerous to other Fire-types, so during evolution, it is advised that Charmander be kept under observation so they don't immediately decimate everything within a six-foot radius.

Most Charmeleon do their best to keep their fire under control unless some level of defense is absolutely necessary, but despite this, they still have a reputation of being the "angsty teenager" stage of a Charmander's life. They tend to be aggressive and overly headstrong, and their newly-formed claws pose a threat not only to those around them but also to their own still-developing skin. Charmeleon themselves are not happy with this stereotype--many of them suffer from some level of emotional distress both because of the reputation they hold and the struggles that come from managing their immense strength. Many Charmeleon are prone to manic-depressive episodes or reacting in peculiar ways to various situations, provoking confusion in their friends and relatives.

When not suffering under the harmful stereotypes they face or attempting to quell their constant emotional turmoil, however, Charmeleon are very passionate and determined individuals. They tend to be resistant to any sort of obstacles in their way, and are generally eager to please as well. On a stranger note, another common trait found among Charmeleon is natural beauty--while most middle-stage Pokémon suffer through some degree of physical awkwardness as they grow, Charmeleon remain stunning and captivating in the eyes of their peers. For many, this remedies the "angst" stereotype Charmeleon carry and paints Charmeleon as fierce and dramatic lovers. On the other hand, Charmeleon would rather avoid any and all stereotypes and just want to be themselves, tired of what the rest of the world may think of them.

Though Charmander children are not incredibly common sights when traveling the world, their attitudes and behaviors seem to create lasting impressions in the minds of those who encounter them. Celebrity Charizard have willingly been part of the gossip mill for as long as anyone can remember, and many Charmander have very big shoes to fill because of it. Along with this, Charizard is--as far as any researcher knows--the only Pokémon capable of two separate Mega Evolutions. While most children whose adult forms can Mega Evolve need only to decide if they wish to try at all, Charmander children have to worry about which evolution to choose and how it can impact their future. Despite all of this, most Charmander maintain a positive attitude about their adult lives and are sociable and kind...if not a little hotheaded at times.

Even those who are not trainers know of the Pokémon Charmander's most critical weakness--copious amounts of water can end their lives in an instant if their trainers are not careful. Charmander children, on the other hand, can spend upwards of several hours sitting in the rain if they wish to do so. Their only real disadvantage is a heightened chance of hypothermia-related problems, which many Fire-types must endure as a result of their constantly-shifting body temperatures. That's not to say Charmander children are invincible, though--being blasted with water at high pressures and forces can bring about an abrupt, yet extremely painful end.

In terms of being able to control their fire powers, Charmander tend to suffer from losing management of them when their emotions reach a fever pitch. It is advised not to engage in arguments with a Charmander, as rising anger can cause the tips of their hair to burst into small flames. Even moments of extreme happiness can set their hair ablaze, though this isn't nearly as dangerous as a Charmander's raw fury. It's not unusual to see mothers keeping their Charmander children's hair short, tying it back into ponytails, or even cutting it off entirely. For this reason, the phrase "bald ‘mander" has been used by some crueler parts of communities to describe people who lack the strength expected out of their various species.

While it is common for some people with the capacity for Mega Evolution to jump at the chance, it's much less common for Venusaur to take that chance. Though Mega Evolution greatly increases their strength--to the point that they are capable of lifting cars with little effort--it also has several physical drawbacks. The weight gain that comes with Mega Evolution is a large part of this problem, as most Venusaur who Mega Evolve gain at least 60 pounds in the process. Though they lose most of it upon reverting to their normal forms, many of them still have extra "pudge" for at least a few weeks afterward. The extra weight is partially muscle and partially fat, for Mega Venusaur need extra fat storage in case of harsh winters or long periods without sunlight. It is believed the Venusaurite was originally created to help nomadic Venusaur survive in harsher climates, so the weight gained in Mega Evolution nowadays is a remnant of that desperation to stay alive.

Mega Venusaur have many more advantages over Venusaur than just their improved strength, most notably the fact that the resting periods that last up to two days for regular Venusaur are far shorter in the case of their Mega forms. Mega Venusaur require little sunlight overall, so the minority of Venusaur who choose to undergo Mega Evolution tend to do so during the winter to make things more bearable. Instead of taking an extended siesta as Venusaur would, Mega Venusaur tough out the freezing conditions and continue to work where other Grass-types cannot. They also seem to have a natural protective instinct, even if they were loners as Venusaur; however, the swollen appearance many of them take on in Mega Evolution cause most of the children they protect to hide their faces in terror.

The longest period of time a Venusaur has remained Mega Evolved for was approximately two weeks, but it is advised not to stay Mega Evolved for over a week in Venusaur's case. Those that remain Mega Venusaur for at least a few days will notice weight gain, lethargy, and in some cases, sudden onsets of vitiligo. Extending one's period as a Mega Venusaur isn't necessarily fatal, but in the two-week case mentioned prior, the Venusaur in question fell into a coma immediately after devolving. Though doctors on his case kept his body outside to gain the sunlight he may have needed to wake up, he never rose from his bed again. It is believed he is still alive and still unconscious to this day, which tends to scare young Bulbasaur away from Mega Evolving entirely. Though Mega Venusaur's unpopularity may seem detrimental, it has also made Mega Venusaur a rare and extraordinary sighting, to the point that they are considered minor celebrities in the brief periods of time they spend in this bigger, stronger form.

As one of the bulkiest Grass-types under the sun--with high levels of stamina to boot--Venusaur is a frequent choice for assisting with construction in rural areas. Rumor has it that if a Venusaur lives somewhere in town, they will eventually end up on the project somehow, even if through disability or old age they are incapable of providing physical aid. Those who are surprised by this widespread tradition need only to look at a Venusaur in action: even if they appear rather slender, they are impressively strong and very in-touch with the world around them. Though their personal scents are not as strong as Ivysaur's, they have a more profound effect in creating a general sense of calm and serenity in the immediate area. This effect is so subtle that most people don't even notice it, which makes it all the more useful when tension is in the air.

Despite all this, some Venusaur refuse to take part in architectural developments, mainly because they don't want any more natural land to be ruined by the installment of new buildings. Environmental destruction tends to be one of the only things that can truly infuriate a Venusaur, and when angry they are prone to engaging in violent battles with coworkers. The calming scents they produce don't help here--Venusaur are only affected by the aromas produced by other Venusaur. Though this anger can be seen as a serious disadvantage, it also makes many Venusaur die-hard conservationists who put their power into building spaces for zoos, nature preserves, and botanical gardens. It's rather common to see Venusaur serving as park rangers or zookeepers, if only to have occupations close to what they love.

Though it's been previously mentioned that Venusaur have incredible stamina, it does run out eventually, and that's what leads to one of Venusaur's biggest weaknesses. When a Venusaur's strength is entirely depleted, they usually need to rest for upwards of two days at a time to be able to function properly again. During this resting period, they spend as much time outside as possible, typically wearing open-backed shirts so their skin can absorb as much sunlight as it can. When a Venusaur is in one of these resting periods, their physical abilities are suppressed and they become even slower in movement than usual--Venusaur are not known for their speed to begin with, but on their downtime it's even more noticeable. However, it is believed that there is some special magic to Venusaur's recharging, for when they lay down to rest their weary bones, flowers seem to bloom around them in a matter of hours.

By the time their energy has come back, most Venusaur return to their previous projects with more color in their skin and a more pleasant, calming aroma around them than ever before.

It's a common misconception among children that, in a desperate effort to minimize their Poison-typing, many Ivysaur spend mornings spraying themselves with various types of perfume. This is entirely incorrect; in fact, the pleasant scents wafting from one's Ivysaur classmates or neighbors are completely natural. Though the scents have a general "sameness" to them, they also vary slightly with each Ivysaur and can be differentiated by those with stronger senses of smell. Scientists have tried to transform this scent into a natural perfume in light of the "Ivysaur misconception"; however, their results have been less than stellar. Many Ivysaur would rather not share their unique scents anyway--they consider them to be a part of who they are.

Ivysaur still have the upper back strength of their pre-evolutions, but many of them have toned arms and legs as well. Even though they do not possess the bulbs of their Pokémon counterparts, most Ivysaur claim to have "an invisible weight" compelling them to train at local gyms and the like. Though this impulse has been seen in Bulbasaur, it is usually abated simply by carrying a heavy backpack around. Ivysaur feel the need to strengthen themselves in order to bear the "weight" they claim to have. If that weight starts to become less of an obstacle, it's likely that the Ivysaur in question is nearing evolution.

When it comes to film portrayals, Ivysaur typically have one of two roles: the dangerous "femme fatale" or the fighter-in-training. Ivysaur have played the protagonists of many action films in the past, though this is rare nowadays with the advent of Fighting-type actors. The "femme fatale" depiction is even rarer, as many female Ivysaur found it hurtful to be portrayed as "sleek and sexy" when, in reality, most Ivysaur are heavily muscled and not particularly graceful. This has been remedied in modern film and the on-screen Ivysaur we see today are far more accurate portrayals of the real thing. Though these Ivysaur may not possess the standard levels of attractiveness most men would desire, they have their own beauty in the way they fight and push themselves to their limits--besides, the incredible smells their bodies produce more than make up for any lack of elegance.

Unlike their Pokémon counterparts, Bulbasaur children lack the seeds on their backs that enable them to absorb nutrients from the sun. Despite this, they are prone to lying in the sunshine as many of the Pokémon do--it is believed that their skin absorbs some level of solar energy as the seeds would. Parents of Bulbasaur are advised to have a space in the yard where their offspring can rest in the sun, like a hammock of some kind. This is believed to improve their physical and emotional states. It's not uncommon to see Bulbasaur children resting on their stomachs in the grass, letting the sun's rays caress their necks and shoulders.

Bulbasaur children also have a surprising level of upper-back strength, and can frequently be seen carrying heavy backpacks around. This is also believed to be done in place of the Pokémon's seed, as many of the children appreciate the level of weight on their backs. They are also prone to growing their hair out into long strands, believed to represent the vines they lack in these human forms. Like just about all Grass-types, Bulbasaur greatly appreciate being in clean, natural environments with as little pollution as possible. Many of them feel a level of disconnect and loneliness if forced to subsist in an urban location, especially smaller apartment buildings.

It's very rare for a Bulbasaur to resist evolution, as their evolution seems to be at least somewhat dependent on the level of solar energy they have absorbed. They can avoid evolution by secluding themselves in their homes or in shadier locations, but a lack of sunshine leaves them frail and, in some cases, clinically depressed. For this reason, most--if not all--Bulbasaur spend copious amounts of time outside, eagerly awaiting their evolution.
