No suggestion. Oh well. At least that gave him plenty of room to further twist this situation however he wanted. Sheffield maintained the embrace, pressing against Kami as much as possible to conserve body heat. These coats made it a bit difficult, but trying was better than giving up.
"No idea?" he said, a little bit of disappointment trickling into his tone. For someone generally so fun, that didn’t help at all. He’d been through a lot in the past ten minutes, however. Sheffield could understand. "Hmm. There really isn’t much to do, without electricity…"
He thought for a moment longer, then piped back up. "If you want to go outside, we could go see what’s happening out there. It might be cold, though." He could only imagine the temperatures outside if the apartment was this cold. "If you want to stay in, well, why don’t we stay as close as we can? It’ll keep us warmer in the end."
Sheffield drew away just enough to maneuver around Kami’s shoulder and press a tender kiss to his cheek. As a result, the hand at Kami’s waist moved to the man’s mid-back. "We don’t have to stand up forever if you decide on that. There’s always the couch in the living room. I might not be the comfiest person, but I’d definitely try to be," he added lightly, sparing another spirited smile.
"Personally, I’d rather stay warm."
[Did he feel...bad? Bad about disappointing someone? It was almost absurd, as there had always only been one person he'd be able to feel that way towards, but yet Kami found the lingering feeling hanging in the back of his head with no intentions of leaving. He exhaled softly, struggling to try and think up something to make up for it but was beaten to the punch.
And just like that, the nagging emotion vanished, replaced by curiosity as he mulled the options offered around for a few moments each. It didn't take him very long to reach a conclusion just from the first suggestion, as he was no fan of the cold at all and he certainly was not about to go actively searching about in the freezing weather if this was how it was inside. No barriers in the brunt of the wind and the snow with how little he was wearing already? Sounded like an idiot's plan, and even he wasn't that stupid no matter how he may act.
A soft laugh is the result of the lips on his cheek, and he turns his own head with his usual grin plastered on his face to match the one the older man was sporting. After all, that sounded perfect; and not only because of the prospect of keeping warm. There was few people the blond grew attached and clung to, so being around said few tended to put him a good mood in most circumstances.
Yes, even in something as undesirable as the cold sinking into his bones.]
You and me think alike, then, Shef-chan--
I don't think I want to go out there for a while either.
[The hand on his arm is grasped and tugged up to the blond's face, the action so he can lightly press his lips to the cool skin.]
I think you'll be perfectly comfy enough.~
Hmph. How unfair. And I was doing so well, too! I thought me and Ibuki-chan were going to be winners.

As each moment passed, it seemed like Kami was relaxing further. Sheffield was more than a little pleased with himself for attaining so much in such a short amount of time. Then again, that was what he was best at. He also enjoyed being so near to him considering the temperature—and that it meant Kami considered them close enough for proximity like this.
Something came to mind: a memory of the past. Kami wasn’t that much like the girl he thought of, but there was enough about this moment that he could clearly recall sitting beside her in a quiet moment in the EGG Facility. This time, it wasn’t her youthful voice he heard: instead, Sheffield closed his eyes and started to hum the song she sang for him to the man he held. His voice wasn’t quite as gentle and effective as hers, but it was certainly softened by the fact that he never parted his lips to really sing.
Even though it took him back, he doubted he could remember all of the lyrics now. He never paid enough attention.
When he finished, he looked out at what he could see of the apartment. Still dark, and still cold. The power wasn’t coming back. "I think it’s going to be cold for a while. What would you like to do?" he asked quietly, patiently. He hadn’t stopped going for the soothing effect, even now.
[In the silence that followed, the blond man did his best to use the given words and quiet to help purge his thoughts. It was so much better not thinking too much about this, the thing that irritated him to no end and was the cause of more of his grief then he was comfortable with. What a pain...he couldn't entirely blame the other for bringing it up, considering the fact he did go around calling himself that somewhat strange title.
He perked up at the noise suddenly emanating from the side, the light hum of a song filling the air. He had never heard it before, no, but then again he didn't know many songs to begin with. It was...soothing. Like a mother singing to their child at night, although he couldn't compare them completely considering he'd never experienced such a thing. It was the closest thing he could think of when it came to it. Kami slowly closed his eyes as Sheffield continued, relaxing completely into the hold and allowing a smile to drift across his lips.
He seems almost disappointed once it stops, but it had done it's work. He could feel the light shifting as the other man looked around, and it was easy to come to a general consensus.
Still stuck.
The question earns a tap to the chin, as if he's actually deep in thought. A good question...what could they do in this freezing blackout?]
I'm not too sure.
The cookies are ruined, and there isn't much to play when it's so cold..
[After a moment, he sighed and tugged the jacket closer a bit more, lightly leaning his head to the side. After all that, now he just felt tired.]
☇ RETURN TO SENDER
[How...irritating.
What was he doing here? No matter how much he strained to see the visible bits within his grasp, they always managed to fade away just out of reach. Blurs of people, a labcoat, multiple rather loud colors, red dresses....it was more than a teeeeeensy bit frustrating that he couldn't figure them out.
Absentmindedly throwing one red bead up in the air over and over again, green eyes scanned the small amount of people on the street from his perch on a stone wall. A lot of them seemed just as disoriented, although in rather different ways, and honestly watching them flounder was entertaining if only a bit. After all, while something small seemed to spark at the corner of his mind when faced with it, the suffering of others was always something Kami tended to enjoy.
Speaking of which...gaze drifting to the red placed in his place, he allowed an excited grin to peel across his lips as an idea came to fruitation. Of course, there was another way to liven this up a bit! While he was limited, that he could remember, there was more than enough times to allow for suitable entertainment. He raised the small bead to his eye, locked onto someone in particular, and--
The plastic rocketed through the air, a splatter of blood hitting the sidewalk as it embedded itself in their knee. An ear-piercing shriek hit the air as they fell grasping at the wound, the only response shocked looks and a loud laugh from the blond who kicked his legs like he was watching a show. Taking advantage of the confusion, he took down another bystander who was rooted to the spot, eyes lighting up as they fell to their knees grasping their arm.
Great, this was great! He hadn't been around too many people in a while, so this was adequate to distract some of his confusion. One more bead flew off the necklace, but unfortunately, he made a miscalculation, meaning it missed their mark and instead just bounced off the ground.]
Whoops! I missed.
Hey, stand still, OK? I'll get it right this time!
"Happy Valentine's Day, Kami-chan! Hope they're good enough for you! Ibuki worked hard to make them edible!"
[ She chuckles, shoving the box against his chest. ]
Oooh, are these all for me?
[The moment the chocolates are in his hand, he's popped one in his mouth, and after humming cheerfully for a moment he suddenly leans in and plants a kiss when she's not expecting it.
After that passes, he rocks back on his heels, grinning widely as he pulls up another to roll between his fingers.]
I think they taste good enough, don't you think?
A visitor at your door has a delivery with your name: a bouquet of yellow sunflowers. There’s a simple, cute card attached to it, with a handwritten note. [Happy Valentine’s Day. I’m thinking of you. ♥ --Serph]
[Well, wasn't that something? Not that he wasn't expecting it, having heard about it ahead of time. That doesn't stall the enthusiasm he tugs the flowers in with, though, not in the least. They're set on his dresser within moments, and a slender hand picks up the card and addresses the contents before promptly grinning widely like a child in a candy store.
Lucky, lucky him.]
"We can decide what to do once we’re not busy! Ibuki can go with whatever you two want! Eeeeverything goes!"
That sounds perfect~! Then again, I'm never really busy. Oh well, I can wait. I have lots in mind, but we'll have to see what Shef-chan thinks first.~
"Mhm! The three of us should organize something to celebrate our stay in the Hive!"
Aha, that's a great idea, Ibuki-chan! I wonder what, though....decisions, decisions.
"Cuddling and kissing you both is way more worthy than going back home for sure!"
I'm glad you agree~! This means we can spend a lot more time together without worry, doesn't it?
"No. I appreciate how similar we are." It made Kami easy to predict in these sorts of circumstances.
"I hope I mean a bit more to you than that.~"
It's nice, isn't it?
Of course, of course! But it'd be a pain to list them all now, maybe another time. Whenever you'd like to hear it, that is!
"Aye… there’s no point going back to the island. Ibuki hated it there."
"This place is much better… looks like most of Ibuki’s friends are staying, too."
It definitely is. ~
Looks like most of mine are, too. It may be a bit more dull, but as long as I can play with you and Shef-chan still, I think It'll be juuust~ fine.
"I thought you’d feel the same."
"I’ll be sticking around, too."
Heehee, would you expect any less?
That's good, that means I don't have to worry about only having one person to kiss.~
"… It’s good to know you’re staying too."
Ah? Ibuki-chan is staying, too?
I don't really have much to go back to, you know. Between here and rubble, I think this is much better!
I don't see the point in going back.
What fun would that be? It seems like a waste.
