Mental health
How depression manifest in me.
Itās as sudden as the weather, one day Iām loving life and the next day I feel nothing. Thatās the main feeling with depression, itās not always sadness itās mainly nothing.
But while I feel nothing I can still function quite normally and still put on a happy show when I need to. This can last for days but then my next symptom is physical exhaustion and I could literally go to bed and sleep until itās gone. It my life doesnāt allow me this freedom and so I begin surviving ..... doing the minimum and even that feels like wading through treacle.
Hereās the thing, they tell you to talk to friends and family but nobody wants to hear this. As a sufferer myself I donāt even wanna hear it, itās so depressing! I mean if it happened once it would be fine but because it reoccurs multiple times itās boring repeating yourself - for talker and listener, so for me I like to keep to myself and ride it out, but this is lonely and being lonely makes you sad. Itās like wanting to be with people but at the same time wanting to be on your own. You literally canāt settle, nothing is right, everything is a ball ache and people are morons.
My list:
The mess and untidiness is everywhere, I canāt get a handle on it. Iām being a lazy housewife.
None of my children are getting enough attention and nurture, how terrible am I that I donāt wanna spend time with them?
My husband may as well be living somewhere else for all the care Iām showing him, why would he stay with me?
I havenāt asked any of my friends how theyāre doing, what a selfish bitch I am.
Life is overwhelming, I canāt cope.
And this is what convinces me that perhaps everyone would be better off without me. Iām bringing everyone down. Holding them back. Ruining there lives.
So when I hear someone has committed suicide I understand , I get why but I also see the effects and destruction it has on so many people and so I must have hope.
Hope that this will pass without too much time and the dark cloud will lift.
Itās normal, itās fine, youāre worth loving, you are loved.
