Our member Oleksandr built this cute, little keyboard. It's a corne. He's also doing a group buy for the PCBs. If you want one, here's the slack channel for the group buy
Terry is currently working on a “Jeticopter” and wrote a blog post about it:
This is a blog post that I've written for Jetex.org. this site is for enthusiasts of free flying model planes powered by long duration, solid fuel rocket motors. this is a technology founded in the UK around 1950 and most readers are unacquainted with such technologies as 3D printing and CAD design. Rather models are made of balsa wood and doped tissue paper and inherently stable. In these blog posts I'm trying to introduce the audience to some different ways of doing things!
As there is no Chaos Computer Congress this year, we are participating in the decentralized congress effort. Join us between 28 December and 30 December 2022 for some hacking, making, learning and just hanging out with a bunch of likeminded people.
Find information on joining adn helping on the DECO page.
This event is a collab between Munich Maker Lab e.V. and Home of Making e.V.
We recently had a bunch of students from TuM over to build an automated chess board.
We are Team One, one of the many teams that took part in the soft and hard skills program Adveisor in 2021, organized by the Chair of Control and Automation Engineering at the Technical University of Munich. In this project we worked together as a team and built a remote controlled self-playing chessboard. We would like to thank the @MunichMakerLab for the great support during the project and for providing workplaces.
Check out the project website or talk to Spacezhang on our Slack to learn more.
Just getting started? We offer a range of courses and introductions to get you started. Sign up today!
After a long needed but also long lasting maintenance, we are happy to announce the lasercutter is coming back. Stronger (100W), more reliable, easier to use and safer than ever. We estimate that work will be finished mid-december.
The mandatory courses will pop up on our courses website shortly. Keep an eye on it and sign up once available to start using the laser as early as possible ;-)
We are open! Join us every Thursday from 6pm for our open evening.
Bring your project, connect with other people and discover our makerspace in the heart of Munich. Just stop by on Thursday after 6pm, no registration needed.
You can find us at Dachauer Str. 112h, 80636 München. We have a wiki page with more information on how to find us.
Join our awesome intro courses!
We are currently offering intro courses for the woodworkshop and our 3D printers. They are free and great to get started with your project at Munich Maker Lab. Currently we are offering each of the courses once a month.
Registration is necessary to participate, so why not take a look at the dates and claim your spot today?
Lots of welding and quite a bit of woodworking went into this lantern Milian built in our workshop 😍
Jan built a camera robot that holds a smartphone and points its camera at things. It consists of a stepper motor, a roller bearing, an oversized power supply and a servo. It is controlled using an ESP8266 and an old 3D printer controller board. The smartphone then sends a live video feed to his PC to be used as a secondary webcam. Here is a video of it in use: https://www.twitch.tv/jvpeek/clip/HardEncouragingFriesSMOrc-huGqPbwWFnrbcqyL
We are (somewhat more) open again! Why don’t you come over and 3D print something, use the mini lathe that got its full maintenance or use our welder that has just got a new hose package?
For now 7 people will be allowed at the Munich Maker Lab at the same time and we are finally open to guests (after they sign our COVID ToS) again! We would be more than happy to see you at the Space.
Got questions? Reach out to us via Instagram, the mailing list or simply stop by 😍
The controller for some of the LED strips in the space needed a new case, so we grabbed this old UPS case from the pile and hooked up the front panel LEDs alongside the LED strips to make them blink as well ✨
The other day, one of our network switches broken, and just wouldn't turn on. We had a replacement in storage, but couldn't get us to throw the old one out. Turns out it was just a broken capacitor, which is a 5 minutes, 20cents fix. After replacing the broken one, the whole thing works again. So now we have a new replacement switch when the next one breaks 😁
Hey there!
Just a heads up from us: We’re still alive, but the lab is in a bit of corona-related hibernation. Current restrictions mean our physical space has to be closed to everyone, even our members. We’re trying to organize some virtual events, some of our regular meetups have moved to virtual formats, and we’re kicking off a new electronics meetup next week. You can check out our calendar for all the events.
In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at our attempt to create a 3D scan of the space for all of you who miss us so dearly. Well, let’s just say we’re not quite there yet 😅
Red was not the impostor
Sven built a wordclock using our laser cutter. Awesome <3
Aaron has built a shelf to store euro boxes. Came out very nice.
