“Perhaps you are right, but not all things should be learned. There is at times a price to pay for learning too much.” The feline spoke in a caml down that almost bordered a monotone voice, appearing not at all bothered by seeing a....whatever this women is.

To be fair Mordecai had seen far too many strange creatures in his time. It has gone to the point where if he can speak the same language, it does not matter what the person looks like.

     How DARE this guy come up to him in an accusatory tone, as if he held higher power in the idealism of MORALITY? & by toying what struck Ratchet the hardest, no less. To be frank, he felt the rising urge to bring out a weapon against him  .  .  .  but that only, somehow would, prove Mordecai’s case. Somehow.

“I don’t deny I get my hands dirty, but in reality who am I really killing? Do you think society is going to care if a few mobsters or people running illegal rackets go missing? The answer is no, the only difference between you and me is uniform. If I went around killing the same types of people I normally kill as a Galactic Ranger, the people would cheer me on as a hero.”

These attempts at gently jabbing at Ratchet was highly amusing, for there was nothing more interesting than to make a person think about their job. In Mordecai’s eyes, the only thing that separated the lombax from a murderous thug...was the uniform he wore. If the ranger did do anything violent, it would work to many great affects. For there are other ways to handle people...why kill them yourself when you can figure out what brings out their anger.

“Oh, but this is decency here.” she retorts just as quickly, having to chime in a last word as always. A grin still tugging at her features as ears twitch and swivel forward. Star places a hand on her hip, listening to what the fellow has to say. She steps a bit closer, raising one hand to scratch behind her left ear nonchalantly. “Well aren’t you a curious sort.”  

“Judging a book by it’s cover won’t get you very far.” she replies before looking up at the beige lupyre. Dismissing her in their native tongue before looking at the brown lupyre and requesting he stay a bit longer. Star’s attention falls back to the feline, amber irises meeting green. “Besides, the fact you aren’t aware of much of Eslypsian society makes me wonder how you got here, care to clue me in on that?” the lupyre continues, curious to just how he got past the safeguards to get into the Tribe lands. There was a reason all interstellar traffic was funneled through The Grand City, so what was this feline doing all the way out here in the Forest of Llangel was beyond her. Especially the fact he was alone, or seemed to be. 

The fact that the canine was asking her own questions, rather than answer the ones made by the feline did make him a bit cautious. Despite there was only one guard instead of two, the issue of not knowing much about this world was the real challenge. Any thoughts related to violence would be fool hardy, not to mention pointless.

"How about you answer my questions first before I answer your own, as there are things I wish to know first. So how about we make a little agreement...you answer one question and I shall answer one..” The tone was calm, as Mordecai tried to talk like a person of business in this odd situation. Now it was time for the black feline to ask his first question. “You mentioned predators come at night, what sort are out here.?”

Lupin hardly found the feline much of a threat. Looks could certainly be deserving, but as far as Lupin was concerned, he was only talking big. Until he drew his weapon, he was just another stray cat causing a ruckus.  ( He had half a mind to throw a boot at him. )

Though, the thief had to admit. He’d seen a lot of strange occurrences in his lifetime, and he’d been doing this same song and dance for a very long time. But never once had he seen a cat quite like this. The thief kept his guard up just in case.

“I see, you choose to act funny. That would be humorous if not for one thing..just one little thing.”

The feline placed a hand inside of his suit jacket, appearing not at all amused by the pussy cat comment. Mordecai came here to ensure the stolen object would be returned, and it would happen no matter how many limbs he was going to break. If the item could not be returned, then a mangled corpse of the thief in question would be just fine.

The hand pulled out of the jacket to reveal the feline’s weapon, the safety was off and now aiming at the thief. If the cat was not a professional at his job, he would have had half a mind to just shoot this one.

“The one thing in question is that this pussycat does not repeat himself. So I’ll ask this only once, shall you cooperate and return what you have stolen; or will I have to take it from your corpse?”

The two lupyre whom had brought the feline into the camp towered over him, looking between each other when the feline spoke. Just what was he on about anyway? The two hadn’t understood a word that had come out of his mouth, only reinforcing that the being between them was not from their planet. The beige furred lupyre flicked her ears and looked at their current acting leader, whom was laughing, seemingly at whatever had been said. The dark brown lupyre raised a hand to gently push the feline forward as the silver lupyre’s laughter died down to a soft snicker. 

“Now now, I could ask why you’re wearing so much clothing.” she responded in the same language the feline had spoken, snickering again, bright amber eyes sparkling with amusement. The look on his face made her wish she had a camera, but the lack of technology in the tribes made that difficult. Star motioned at the two lupyre flanking him, whom were now looking at her with undivided attention. “You’re lucky these scouts found you, the beasts tend to come out at night. I’d hate to see a guest of Eslypso become a snack to unfortunate circumstances.” 

The sound of laughter did cause for both ears to perk up, as it seems there was someone who was able to understand him. Though it was unclear if the response he got was better or worse than silence, the idea of someone giving the idea that the feline wore too much was crazy.

“Decency would the right word for why, I’m not going to wear what little covers your own body thank you very much.” The reply was quick in tone, as he really did not wish to delve more into the subject at hand. The mentions of beasts did catch Mordecai’s attention. “While the supposed assistance is appreciated...I need to figure out how you know my language. I doubt a mere tribe could get the tech to do so, which means there has to be more to your kind than just a few tribes.”

“My god....where are their clothing!?!?!?” It was safe to say that the feline was mortified at what he was seeing at this very moment. There had been some strange societies out there in the known universe, but the cat personally found this one the most worrying.

Why were they not wearing anything? Why was this a thing? This was truly hell.

Theft was one of the greatest offences one could commit to anyone of a criminal reputation, and Mordecai’s current employer was not different. It did not matter what the famed thief had taken, but the feline had been hired to do only one job....make an example to any that disrespect his boss.

"What makes you morally correct over right and wrong? Frankly I find it insulting you are the one people call the hero, while I be seen as a villain. Let’s face facts when it comes to comparing body counts, as the number you carry triples the amount of people I have killed.”

Mordecai was not a fan of the galactic rangers, and that meant double for someone like Ratchet. People cheer and give the lombax so much love just by ending threats...yet they never think of how such deeds were done. The answer of how was something the feline knew quite well, as most that fight this ranger get a bullet to their skulls. Not all of his enemies are machine, plenty were organic as well.

Rebellion was a common thing among all lifeforms, the urge to fight against those that already took over one’s home was a interesting cause. But facts and the nature of reality itself were funny things that removed such thinking, for not all fights against an occupation will succeed. Not to mention that to the eyes to most of the known galaxy....the idea of a liberated mars was nothing more than a impossible idea.

"While I’m sure most of us find the idea of your....revolt against the operations done to pollute the earth amusing. Reality should remind a rodent like yourself one thing, you lost the war on mars and nothing will bring it back to you. Perhaps giving up would be a better option, cause there are many solar systems in this galaxy. Trying to save one that is under legal ownership is illlegal and can get you into trouble.”

There was a tone of irritation in the feline’s voice, as he had been sent from his boss to relay a message to at least one of these rodents. For while it was cute at first to see an incompetent fool get beaten, the feline’s boss was now hired to handle the mess. Cause it is no longer funny and now security corporations are entering this mess now.

“This is a first and only warning, you have been playing with a dull fire that is picking up heat now. I would suggest you surrender yourself or the next time I come to this world, it shall not be pretty. I hope I’ve gotten through that thick skull, as I won’t repeat the gravity of the situation that  is happening from now on.”
