It had been so many moons ago, that Dipper had almost forgotten how he had even come to be on Berk; A Dragon Utopia as Hiccup had introduced him to it. You see, Dipper wasn’t originally from Berk. He wasn’t even from the Archipelago. Sadly he couldn’t remember from where as he had ended up washed ashore on the shores of Berk without a clue of where he was and only knew his name.
Hiccup had been kind enough to allow him a place to stay and spared him some clothes as his had been soaked. He still couldn’t get over everything about Berk; there was so much to learn and record. Which is what Dipper and Hiccup had found out that Dipper was good at. He had begun to write encrypted facts about the dragons that he had learned while providing the common knowledge about those dragons in regular script. Of course Dipper explained the encrypted script he had been using to Hiccup so the two of them could work on rewriting the Book of Dragons.
After all, this was knowledge that could be shared with those who were still learning how to treat and care for a dragon. Dipper had come to be known as the ‘Chronicler’ as he had written books on the different classes as well as a combined encyclopedia of all the dragons. While Dipper didn’t mind being around dragons, he didn’t like being left alone with one. Almost always vouching to go with the other rather then staying put with the dragon. It’s not that he didn’t trust them, he just... had a past he couldn’t remember but knew it involved a one-eyed dragon with wicked fangs and deadly fire.
Dipper was currently writing on the parchment in ‘his’ room when he heard the door downstairs open. Raising a brow, they paused in their writing and got up to open the door. However of course just as they were about to open the door, someone else had been about to knock.
“Oh! Sorry... I didn’t expect you to be here so suddenly... Something up, Hiccup?”
