FIN DE CINEMA A screening of: The Fruit of Paradise (Vera Chytilova, 1970) With live score composed and performed by: Fanno Creek Ben Darwish & Coco Columbia Murmur Ring (Jem from the Ghost Ease) Doors at 8:30, film begins promptly at 9. $7 day of show 21+ FIN DE CINEMA is our quarterly live film score series, re-imagining classic art films by pairing them with boundary-pushing local musicians. This edition focuses on our favorite era of film - the Czech New Wave, in all of its colorful psychedelic splendor. We're screening radical feminist director Vera Chytilova's far-out Adam & Eve tale from 1970, The Fruit of Paradise. We'll see the score lovingly reinvented by folk-rockers Fanno Creek, jazz / pop composer Ben Darwish (of Morning Ritual, Commotion and more) in collaboration with future-pop vocalist Coco Columbia, and sound artist Murmur Ring (aka Jem Marie of The Ghost Ease in her ambient / drone - leaning side project).
