I Like To Fish!

I fish a lot and this blog will mostly be about fish that i catch, how and where i caught them aswell as tips. I fish in western new york around the rochester area. Feel free to submit any tips or any facts about wildlife and plants in general or more about the ecosystem in my area, i always like to learn more about it!

I usally like to use a very small midge and a medium-small nymph for micro fishing.

They fight alot on 4lb test and a tricky landing situation.

Bigger catches of the day. Im gonna start trying a new technique. Im gonna walk the banks with a small fly and find the small baitfish and then catch the small baitfish and live line them near where i caught them.

Had some fun with the bluegills and rock bass while live lining a baby bluegill for a nice size pike in the erie canal!

Multispecies fishing on the Erie canal! I was drowning worms and using nymphs during beginning and switched to dry flies later in the day.

I caught these beautiful rainbows with a copper john nymph in this little pool, it was hot today (70-80F) so i targeted places with a lot of oxygen. I just drifted it with a tight line and high sticking on the outside of the pool and i hightlight where i casted and got strikes. I also hooked a steelhead., not in the area shown but he broke my line. I was using 3 pound line and he swam down stream and toke off.

There were little white flies hatching and i tried to imitate them using a blue winged olive dry fly casting where i saw rises. And the fish were rising A LOT, sometimes 4-5 fish would rise at a time.

My snapping turtle will not eat anything. Ive tried turtle food both shrimp and the little balls, live crickets, live fish, and frozen krill. He has the heat lamp and the uv lamp. Ive had him since December and he has not eaten since. I found him in a house i was cleaning for work and the house was in terrible condition, no heat and i dont know how long he went without heat or food before i found him. I dont know what to do.

They were enjoying the Mickey Finn streamer today! I was just stripping on the swing and they were biting at the end! It is a size 10 i believe

Caught on minnow imitations. My friend was swinging a rapala husky jerk size 6 in the current and i was swinging a small white zonker thing with flash.
