"I intend to replace anything I had to use when he returns. But i dont think that he would care that much." Vin was always giving stuff out anyways so it wasn't like they didn't have plenty.

"And you dont have to say anything you don't want to either, i'll be here when you are ready for that."

So he remained silent. For a while. Having someone else here was somewhat nice but he would've just stayed with Syntax if he'd known this turn into some sort of pathetic show about his feelings and grief.

"That is fine with me, now is there anything you want? Now Vin has some good teas and possibly some wine tucked away around here." If he was going to have this guy with him might as well try to be a decent host and help them figure out what they wanted.

He was uncomfortable but masked it the best he could, which was pretty well.

"Are you sure Vin won't realise that some of his tea is missing?"

"If I let you stay here with me until Vin comes back you have to give me your word you won't harm anyone here. I've been in your shoes, not having a purpose and not knowing who you are after everything. and having an extra hand to help protect this place will be helpful."

"...Fine. You have my word. That is until Vin comes back, then I will take my leave and the deal is no more."

"I don't believe you. You're saying you wouldn't want the pride of knowing you destroyed such an object? a new purpose in life?" Zhen knew what it was like, to walk without a purpose. but he had managed to find a new one, to see if that kid could prove him wrong on if this world was worth fighting for. And so far Lumos, Vin and the others had done just that. they had helped him begin to see that maybe there was more to this world and he wanted to see it.

"I don't want the staff. I don't want your Monkey King. Destroying the staff would do nothing for me, there will be others like it the more Monkey Kings come along. Destroying one will not destroy them all."

Then, what did he want? He didn't know. His whole life had been dedicated to serving, now he was left with nothing. And he had to be reminded of it, every. single. day.

He couldn't live peacefully, as chaos was all he'd ever known. He couldn't get a normal job, they frustrated him to no end. He was stuck, with not knowing who he was or what he wanted. He didn't even have a name for himself, he'd forgotten the name he possessed before.

"Sounds like you're saying you can't do it. a shame, really thought that you'd like the idea of being able to say you helped destroy the Ruyi Jingu Bang." Ok maybe antagonizing them and challenging their capability would get them to leave.

"I could do it. I just don't want to. I don't want to SEE any of the Monkey Kings at the moment."

For a moment, his facade slipped. Irritation painted his words. He didn't want to see any of the Wukongs, his or this versions.

"I look away for a single moment. And HE'S GONE! I don't know why anyone puts me in charge of making sure he doesn't wreak havoc. My apologies to whoever has to deal with him at the moment."

No, No, definitely not. Zhen could not have this duplicate of his remaining here on flower fruit mountain. The monkeys were already awkward enough around him as it was. But he still had to get this guy to leave.

"Wouldn't going to find sunset and trying to destroy the staff be a far better use of your time instead of just staying here on a mountain?"

"What interest would I have in Sunset? It'd be a waste of my time and energy."

"I'm staying here on the mountain to protect it until Vin makes his way back here. Sunset is off to try and destroy the staff, Ruyi Jingu Bang and no idea where the kid is now."

Saying what the plan was now still wouldn't give away all the details, just enough to keep them interested and not causing trouble. And it wasn't like he was lying, He truly didn't know where Lumos was now nor did he know where sunset went either. he just knew what their plan was, the only one he had a somewhat concrete idea of where they were was Vin but it was going to take time for them to return. And until then the less bad people that knew what happened the better...

"So you're just sat here by yourself? Waiting for Vin to return, with no clue on the whereabouts of the Monkey Kid? How..." He paused, "Intriguing."

"Of course, I could stay. Until Vin returns."

He was definitely not blind to the fact the he didn't want him here. But he had no one else to bother, and that was boring him.

And while Lumos was the harbinger of chaos and likely would get a better control over it eventually that didn't make what had happened any less messy to deal with. Now he had no idea where they went, where Sunset was now and he couldn't leave the mountain until Vin managed to make their way back here.

"Do you have any idea on what you will do about it? Or is that still to be figured out?"
