Bar Bet | 001.
bhatiwll:
Gabriel was desperate to get the campaign he was working for so badly, but what shouldâve been earned by his skills and effort became a bet between his boss, his friends and himself. While sitting at the table, Gabriel was attentive at their conversation, debating over the possibility of getting the campaign when his boss once again took control over their conversation.Â
Find a woman to fall in love with you, and if youâre able to do it, then youâll have the campain.
Not because he deserved, only because if he could have a woman in love with it, it meant he would be passionate enough to understand women and work in that campaign. âAnd I can choose this woman?â Once he received a nod in agreement, Gabriel moved up, excusing himself from the conversation to find the woman who would help him get this job while falling for him. All of it sounded too easy inside his head.
He stood there by the bar, talking to women that would surround him some that he wished that would just give up of their conversation and some that seemed interest enough to either be a friend or a one night stand but none of them seemed to be the person to be part of this bet until one finally stood out among the others. As he turned to look at her, he knew. That was the one. And before heâd say something, she was the one who started a conversation with him. âI guess I could help you with it. Whatâs wrong with your watch?â
He was either gullible or waiting for her to talk to him. She took out a watch from her pocket, the same she used whenever she wanted to decide wether to take someone home or move to the next one. It was a vintage model, she had messed with the hands and let the battery die, he only needed to move it to wind it up and fix the hour, separated the interesting and intelligent from the others. âI think I sat on it and messed it up. It was a present from my Father before he...â, she took a deep breath and sighed. âAnyways I thought someone could fix it before I take it to a specialist, you know how expensive those can be? Iâll be out of food for a weekâ, she joked.Â
The waiter set a drink near her. From the gentleman at the end of the bar, thought you were lonely. Frida smiled politely and shook her head, âthink you can give it to him? Iâll take a margarita, make it sour. And if this guy wants a refill, itâs on me. The least I could do for someone who is willing to try and fix my watchâ, she turned to look at him with a shrug, ânot the best reward, but I have to start somewhere, right?â
