The patriarchy cannot motivate an otherwise innately good man to assault, rape or kill a woman, like people seem to want to believe. The cruelty must already be in him. He fuels the patriarchy with his actions, and the patriarchy serves to endorse his cruelty and provide him with the means to successfully execute it, but doesn't create his depravity in the first instance. The patriarchy cannot psychically compel a “soft, gentle man” to go against his true nature and become a violent rapist, he must already have the capacity to be one.

That’s why I criticise the way the “patriarchy” has evolved into a convenient scapegoat that redirects blame away from men and towards a toxic ideology instead. It’s become a catch-all invisible boogeyman that obfuscates the true perpetrators and benefactors of male violence and aggression. A mysterious force that can apparently compel otherwise good men to commit atrocities.

That it's the reason why 90% of murders, 99% of sexual assaults, and 95% of domestic abusers are men. That men have no personal culpability, really- it's nurture, not nature.

It turns the issue of male violence into a general societal problem that everyone’s complicit in, and everybody suffers equally from. It’s become a passive way of discussing the sex-based oppression women face.

People seem to forget that patriarchy is directly tied to men. It was created by men, for the benefit of men, and relies on the participation of men.

No amount of socialisation can compel a morally sound person to commit rape or murder. I suppose that there’s a bigger philosophical or sociological question at hand here regarding nature vs nurture, but that’s my honest stance.

But I truly believe that if an existent social structure can compel a particular portion of the population to commit crimes at a disproportionate rate- a rate which remains consistent across social, economical, racial and cultural divides- then perhaps there is something fundamentally wrong with that part of the population.

Even male animals commit rape, so I do feel like there’s a biological component along with a social one.

I hate medical malpractice. I hate the medical industrial complex. I hate the grooming of children. I hate that traumatic reactions to misogyny are treated as evidence of a woman being trans. I hate that having a gay/lesbian fetish is treated as evidence that a person is trans. I hate that the identities of marginalised groups are treated like a fun trend that people can opt into. I hate when marginalised groups are forced into cultural colonisation/gentrification in order to make way for people that don't belong to them. I am irritated by the fact that a lot of the trans community is willing to put their head in the dirt about issues in the trans movement rather than speaking out. It speaks volumes to me that so many consider discussing the above points as "transphobia."

As to trans individuals themselves, I am supportive and respectful, so long as their motives aren't corrupt, misguided, or ignorant. That's the baseline.
