Jungkook woke up a couple of times before actually getting up. He gently moved away from under Jaelynn and decided to get them some food. He hadn’t noticed how hungry he was from sleeping without dinner the night before. He decided to cook for both of them since he was short on cash. “I’m going through be in the kitchen.” He whispered unsure if she could hear him or not.

Snuggling back into the blanket, Jaelynn made a quiet noise for a moment, but then blinked her eyes open a few minutes later with a pout. Laying there as she listened to him work in the kitchen, she eventually rolled off the couch and shuffled into the kitchen, wrapping the blanket around herself as she leaned against the counter. “What’re you making?” she asked.

Amelia giggled and gave him a hug. “I’ll try to be a little less scatterbrained,” she promised, then looked around. “You want to go do something?”

Amelia hadn’t expected it honestly, and she blinked at him after a moment, completely dumbfounded. “Uh…what?”

He looked over at her, a little sad but waved it off as a whim.  “Don’t mind that!  I don’t even know what I was doing anyway.”  He said fidgeting before looking down.  “Maybe I should go?”  He asked as he pointed away.  “Yeah I’ll go.”

“N-no! You don’t have to, I’m sorry!” she said, grabbing his hand. “I’m sorry, I just...I just wasn’t paying attention and really wasn’t expecting that  right then.” Looking up at him with a small pout, she reached up to brush her free hand through his hair. “Forgive me?” she finished before leaning in to peck his cheek.

“Ah!  I’m sorry are you hurt?”  He asked as he held out his hand to them.  He was trying to keep from being seen as he wasn’t all that normal, but he never once left someone when he was a fault.  “I hope you are okay”

Amelia looked up and blinked, rubbing the back of her neck. “Yeah, yeah i”m okay, s’my fault, I wasn’t paying attention,” she said as she took his hand and pulled herself up.  “Thank you.”

“It’s no problem.” He said softly. Jungkook felt Jaelynn falling asleep on him. While she was asleep he had a lot of time to think about the confession, he was necessarily scared but he was a bit all over the place. In the end he decided that he had a close bond with Jaelynn and it was strong enough to keep him there even if he was a little scared of what Jaelynn was. Jungkook fell asleep minutes later still holding on to his friend and making sure she was safe.

Jaelynn’s eyes fluttered open a few hours later, and she peeked up at Jungkook with a sleepy smile. Shifting just a bit, she pressed a kiss to his cheek before snuggling back against his side and drifting off again.

Jungkook thought he should be afraid, his body seemed to think he should. If his body were a ship, red lights would be going off and yet he thought Jaelynn was more scared that he could ever be. “Well… I’m not sure what I can do about that part but I can tell you… that I’ll be here and I’ll try to at least help you with the sleeping.” He said in a soft voice. 

Jaelynn looked up at him and gave him a soft smile before moving to rest her head on his chest and closing her eyes. “Thank you,” she murmured before falling silent to let his heartbeat lull her to sleep.

Jungkook almost flinched when she got closer again but a stronger part of him told him that she was still Jaelynn that nothing had really changed. “So… do the nightmares tie to your parents?” He question.

“Yeah,” she said softly, looking away. “The...the guy who killed my dad...he came for me when I was eighteen, and I’ve always been paranoid he’d try to find me again after I got away...I was always afraid to make friends at first because I didn’t want him to target them to get to me...”

Jungkook looked at Jaelynn for a few seconds. He was going to ask what she meant but didn’t have the chance. Jungkook listened half his mind not believing it but the look on her face said that she was being serious. “So.. you’re like what? A demi goddess type person?” He asked wanting to clarify and say something as he sorted his thoughts and tried to keep himself calm.

Jaelynn blinked a bit and suddenly chuckled, moving to curl back up against him. “Not quite, but if that’s how you want to think of it, I won’t stop you,” she giggled softly.

“Yeah?” Jaelynn mumbled from the couch, having spent spent most of the day training outside with Amelia. Sitting up, she stretched and looked over at her father. “Sorry, just tired.”

Jungkook didn’t even think about it. “I promise not to freak out. Maybe be shocked but not freaked out.” He said thinking it might be something she’s just insecure about. “I’m always here, no matter what.” He added. 

Sighing softly, Jaelynn sat up a bit and looked down at her hands. “Um...okay, so...I’m not human,” she began, chewing her bottom lip. Before Jungkook had a chance to respond, she continued, “Well not entirely, more like 35% human? My mom was descended from angels and well, the devil was my dad...I say was in both cases because Dad died before mom even knew she was pregnant with me so I never knew him, and mom died by the time I was three so my aunt and uncle raised me after that.”
