Semi-Hiatus Notice!
[ Hey guys! Just an update! I know I've been a bit distant and I'm sorry I didn't warn you, but it kind of came suddenly. I am going on vacation from the 29th to the 3rd. So I'll be gone for a little bit. I may be able to lurk and do a couple replies every now and then, but I will be on a semi-hiatus until the 3rd! Thank you for your patience and know I adore you all! ]
He was walking through the streets, scanning the crowd with his blue orbs in order to see if anyone had anything valuable on them. Selino felt something strong close to him, emotions. There must have been a big group of cats around, but he tried to ignore it while he walked. He felt Xander slip the wallet out of his back pocket and let him go for a couple of minutes. Soon enough he walked into the alley and ran up to Xander. Selino gripped his arm and pushed him up on the side of one of the building in a swift movement. He felt the strong sense of emotions again, a cat’s emotions, and glared into his eyes. “Who are you? What are you?” He slipped his hand back into the boy’s pocket and grabbed his own wallet.
Without expecting the male he stole from to actually realize he did, Xander was surprised when the stranger walked into the alley and pushed him against the wall. His head hit hard, but he shook it off and pushed against the stranger, trying to fight back. He felt his hand in his pocket, trying to take back the wallet, but instinct took over and he pushed his backside harder against the wall, trying to hurt the stranger's hand, hopefully get him to pull it back. "What the hell are you talking about?" Xander demanded, still fighting and pushing against the male, playing dumb.

He doesn’t like to brag, but Theo knew that his food was rather delicious compared to what they usually served around here. So it was natural that Xander drooled over his leftovers, but he didn’t think that the half-leopard would want to tear down his beloved pantry. “Okay.” He raised his brows cautiously, raising both hands before he reached down for a plate and some utensils. “Calm down. I’ll serve them out.” The demigod carefully put his ravioli on the plate, pushing it towards the other before he picked a bowl in order to place his mango sorbet.
Once everything was in place, he crossed his hands and leaned to a cabinet, taking a deep breath so he would be ready for what Xander might do with his food. Maybe he would need a mini truck to haul the mess away, who knows? That’s impossible in Camp, of course. But he made a mental note to ask the Hecate kids to magically make any mess disappear, just in case. “Okay. Go ahead, dig in.”
Before he began, Xander mouthed a small apology before he literally dug into Theo's food. Becoming the animal that he was, Xander proved he was still that leopard as his teeth tore into the prepared food, sad that he can't really enjoy it, for his stomach demanded the sustenance before enjoyment. Once finished with his plate, Xander's face and hands were full of sauce. He blushed as he licked the sauce off his hands, then reused them to wipe the sauce off his face. He wasn't usually embarrassed about how he ate food but he was in front of the god. When his face was clean, he literally cleaned the plate before putting it down and sitting with an embarrassed look on his face. He wasn't able to meet Theo's eyes.
"Thank you for the food." He said gratefully, getting down from his spot on the counter and taking his plate to the sink. He washed it, then his hands and face before returning to the counter. "It was delicious. Now that my hunger is a bit more subsided, I will be able to truly enjoy your next meal?" He asked, hesitant that the other would never want to cook for him again.

“Don’t you think I already gave you the benefit of the doubt by not killing you on the spot? By bringing you here?”
Pushing herself away from the door, turning slowly to face him once again. The hunter sighed as her hand extends to the other.
“Deal. You better have proof you’re telling the truth and it needs to be good. They won’t let you go so easily. What is different is feared and often destroyed."
Whether that notion was fair or not was unimportant. It was how things were, something they both had to push through and fight on their own against.
"No, I think you thought to benefit yourself, my circumstances be damned." He admitted, sitting up as she extended her hand. He moved to sit on the edge of the bed before he stood and extended his own hand to hers. He shook her hand to seal their deal.
"I don't have the evidence yet, but as long as I can catch a scent, I can find who really murdered that girl." He promised, letting go of her hand as he moved back to the bed. "I can't keep my eyes open any longer. Use that broom to poke me awake whenever we're to leave. If you do it with yourself, you may get a scratch or bite." The leopard warned as he turned to his side and instantly felt his exhaustion kick in.
Thor shared a wide, farely open room together, enough to house a whole family. There bed were twenty five feet adjacent from each other. So when Thor was slowly waking up, he saw the last little bit of Xander’s body, turning the corner. There was something off about all of this. Thor almost always woke up earlier than the younger boy to feast with the rest of the warriors, leaving his son to sleep peacefully. Although Thor knew they were friends, he’d consodered Xander his son. The two had become so close these past nine years.
Now that he thought about it, Thor had been noticing something off about Xander. He was usually a good and outgoing kid, better than most on Midgard, something Thor really liked about him. But lately, Xander seemed reserved and quite, and Thor had taught him so much batter than that.
Not bothering to put on a shirt, Thor sat up, swinged his legs over the edge of the bed and stood up. As he walked, he could feel the cold floor under his toes and the fresh Asgardian missed that landed on his chest. He walked until he found the dining hall, where Xander was. As he walked closer, he asked. “Is there something that troubles you, boy Xander?”
The deep voice suddenly behind him startled him, causing Xander to drop the orange he had in his hand that moment. As the Asgardian came closer to him, Xander backed until he hit the table. Looking behind him, he frowned when he was trapped and he shook his head. "No. I'm alright." He replied calmly, his eyes catching him without a shirt and a small blush forming on his cheeks. "What are you doing up so early?" He asked, instantly regretting it, for Thor was always up earlier than him.
Alex sighed and looked down. "I'm not really feeling well. I thought some citrus would do me good." It wasn't a total lie, for he was feeling rather ill, but that was more due to his thoughts than his physic.
“My abilities are the last thing I rely on.”
They were something she hated about herself. Rather something she was taught to hate about herself. Rolling her eyes and turning her gaze away from his face. Lucky for him, he had all the information she needed, so she remained silent. Allowing him to get out that frustration even more.
Lids slowly close and remained shut. The anger she saved up all for this moment threatening to explode from within her in this moment. To use it against him. She would gain a handsome reward for his head, but not as much reward if she kept him alive for this.
“Emotions are easily controlled with practice. Something I’ve had a lot of. This line of work doesn’t allow fear or sentimentality to get in the way. Even if it is what caught my interest in this. The money is also too good to pass up.”
Masking what was inside with the usual greed any hunter had. He was right. Allowing revenge to take control of her would be a mistake that would get them both killed.
“I have dealt with vampires before. I know their deceptive and manipulative ways. It’s their own downfall. Once you know how their minds work you can use their own tricks against them. Warren would be able to stock me with supplies and weapons. Perhaps information from passing hunters and the likes. We’ll head out at day break. Stay in the shadows, if you’re caught I more than likely will not be able to help you. This other leopard had better be reliable. I don’t normally work with others, so if he or she slows me down in any way I won’t be happy.”
The hunter moved to the door. For some odd reason, she couldn’t shake the idea of someone watching them from out of her head. Her ear pressed lightly to the door, listening to the commotion behind it. Perhaps paranoia was setting in, but a cautious mind was good.
The boy shook his head against the wall, his eyes closing once she moved to the door. She was more stubborn than he was and he feared that it wasn't just the vampire's arrogance that would come to worry him. Still, for tonight, they were safe and he could finally sleep.
"If we live through this, I didn't do it. I want my name clear and I will find out who framed me. If I help you with this, you give me the benefit of the doubt and help me. Deal?" He asked, now laying on his elbow as he watched her at the door. He wasn't able to hear anything on the opposite side, but as tired as he was, he wouldn't rely on his abilities at that moment.
“You may refer to me as Kino.”
Moving to take her seat beside the bed once again. This time unbuckling and kicking her dirtied boots off. Her ankles crossed, leaning back in her chair playing with the knife as she listened to him. Finding allies would be a problem. Having yet to really find a need to have anyone she could call a friend, there were people with resources she could call upon.
She would allow his presumptions of her. It always played out in her favor. No one suspected her to hold the power of electrokinesis, she liked it that way. The cards dealt out in her favor in most situations.
“I can’t guarantee much help from those I know and associate with. Only the small amount of help here and there, possibly threats laid out in order to get what we need.”
The blade was thrown past his face sticking to the wall behind him. A warning to him not to try anything with her again. If his other side showed up at anytime, the hunter wouldn’t hesitate to end him then and there.
“Leave them to me. But know this, if you fuck up, if you put us both in danger, I won’t hesitate to kill you. I need to know his name. What did he look like?”
Lips quivered as she stared at the wall. Replaying that night in her mind. The face she stared down upon from her hiding. The monster that stood before the corpses of all she ever knew.
There was no flinch as she threw the knife behind him, for he sensed her movement before she did so. Still, he let her remain in control that night. "As long as he has no power over me, I will not fuck up." He glared back to her, his eyes repeating her words back to her. There was a part of him that truly did wish to tear into her and he feared it'd always be there. He leaned against the wall, watching the hunter as he took the knife from the wall and twirled it on his fingers. He had never trained with weapons, never had the need to, though a part of him was always fascinated by them. "I don't care how strong you think you are, do not underestimate this monster. Whatever help you can find, gifted humans, other weres, vampires seeking power, other hunters, etc. We're going to need all the help we can get to defeat him." She'd asked a name and that wasn't a piece of information he had, but he did have an identity. "He goes by Promeneur Nocturne: Night Walker. Classic, I know, but he's old and he's very powerful. Whatever abilities you possess, do not rely on them. They will use too much of your energy and you'll be powerless to evade him. You need to be as quick as me; quicker. I am not doubting your skills as a hunter, nor am I doubting your ability to save yourself. What I doubt is reasoning for going after him. If emotions are going to be your motivation, you're already dead."
The were sighed and sat the blade to his side and continued to watch the hunter, his brows creasing. "The best bet is to speak to the MOC. Form a meeting and this way you will get a glance of Promeneur Nocturne's abilities for yourself. Make sure, though, you have an exit strategy. Vampires seem to be all about policy nowadays since the supernatural secret came out. They won't dare kill a human without cause, but, they will find a way to trick you. I cannot go in with you, for they're still looking for me, but it's possible I may be able to find another leopard to join you. This way, we may find out if he can control us."
The brother’s watched in both disgust and amazement as the other man devoured what they had placed in front of him. Liam had shrank back, unsure of what he was seeing, and Kieran had stood. The only time Kieran wasn’t skittish and afraid of people was when Liam was around. Liam was more important, so he pushed his anxiety aside. The others eyes were practically glowing in the most inhuman way, and it wasn’t a trick of the light. He pressed his lips together, gripping the chair of the arm with long fingers until his knuckles turned white. "Xander?" he said slowly. Liam and Kieran’s last name was Alexander, it was an odd coincidence. Liam reached out, taking Kieran’s shirt in his hand and holding him back, so he didn’t get any closer, "This is Liam, my little brother, and I’m Kieran." "What the fuck are you?" Liam blurted out, physically shaken from what he had seen, "Your eyes, what did they just do? How did you do that?" He couldn’t help himself, and Kieran was starting to regret bring someone here. He should have left the man in the alley. it was his own fault for getting involved.
He saw the disgust and fear in their eyes. Not that he could blame them. Usually he had control, but the hunger inside him won against his moral responsibilities. Xander sighed and stood, backing away so he was against the wall, far from their reach. He did this so the others would feel more relaxed at the distance between them and so his back was guarded against any other possible surprises that night. "Thank you for the food." The leopard nodded and frowned. "I am sorry, though, you had to see what you weren't prepared to see. What I am is not something I am ready to explain to two strangers. I can tell you that I am dangerous, but I will not harm those who do not deserve it, if I can help it." Watching them with skepticism, he tried to put their minds at ease, though he feared he was sewing seeds of doubt. From his explanation, he probably sounded like the characters Jekyll and Hyde.
"Kieran, Liam, thank you for your hospitality. I fear I'll continue to discomfort you if I don't leave. Still, if I do leave, I fear I won't have a place to sleep tonight. I hate to impose and I hate to make you further afraid, but if I swear I will not harm you this night, may I request a few more hours of sleep? I will be gone as soon as I wake."
Everything moved slowly before her, just like any other fight. His hand moving towards her wrists, something she could have stopped but allowed to happen. Rage was something that needed to be let out of its cage now and again. To have it pent up and trapped the way she was physically now would only cause them both more problems down the line. Makoto’s eyes narrowed as she responded.
“Fear is something you need to learn how to control and tame. Not something you allow to take over like it seems to have you.”
Her hands slowly dropped down to her sides once he released her. Flesh red where he had grabbed her, though she did not rub them to soothe the pain. she allowed it to linger as a reminder of his potential.
The hunter saw her home flash before her eyes. The boy she once knew before her in a similar fashion. In that moment, she hated were. Hated him for bringing things back to her she wanted to remain closed to her forever.
“I never said I would deny your plea. I’ll do it if it comes to that. What I was trying to get at is your strength you seem to not know you posses. You’re on the run alone, scared, hungry, everything stacked up against you. And you survived this far. Do you not think yourself strong for that?”
Where it was true he had survived this long alone, which was very rare for a submissive to do, but he had a promise to keep. He calmed himself down as he watched the hunter, her words pushing their way into his mind, demanding to be heard, regardless he didn't want to hear it.
"I think I have potential to grow." He admitted, looking down at his hands. He still felt her warm flesh on his fingers and a part of him wished to dig deep into her skin and hear her screams of agony as he devoured her. It was that part of him he despised. He was no monster, yet that part of him was. "I will also admit that neither you or I are ready to face that sadist." He said, moving to sit on the bed once more. Xander's body now found itself relaxed and civil as he watched the hunter, letting her know he wouldn't try to harm her again. At least for that moment.
"We're going to need help. Especially if I go with you, for my former pard is in alliance with the vampire and they vastly outnumber us." Xander's head looked down and he hesitated. There was something he was unsure of. "We also need to know something about him, for I am not sure of the answer." The leopard's eyes lifted to the hunter and he took a deep breath. "I know he's a master vampire, but I do not know his animal to call. If it's leopards, I can't go with you. If he uses his power against me, I'm powerless to fight back."
Kieran sighed a bit as the other spoke, nodding slowly as he glanced at Liam. He bit his lower lip and pointed to the refrigerator, “Liam, go get the left overs from last night and pop them into the microwave.” Liam sighed and did as he was told, Kieran was the only person Liam ever truly listened to. It was the only person he trusted enough too. Kieran reached out and helped the other off the floor, guiding him at couch.
"C’mon, get up on the couch." he instructed, and as he said that Liam came in with the food. He set the slightly cold steak on the coffee table and backed away warily, sitting on the chair again. He took a deep breath, "Eat, c’mon, eat up before you keel over." Kieran sat down near Liam, balancing on the arm of the chair.
"Kieran," it was clear Liam was nervous, "Should we ask his name?" he asked, whispering to him. Liam was picking idly at his hoodie sleeve, blue eyes narrowed. Kieran nodded in agreement, and that’s when Liam spoke, "What’s your name?"
Once seated on the couch and the smell of food overwhelming his nostrils, Xander's mind went blank. Looking for a moment at the food placed on the coffee table in front of him, the animal rage inside him was let loose and he quite literally devoured the food. His eyes began to glow as the beast inside him began to be sedated. It wished to remain, but it was Xander's turn to be in control. His face was covered in the juices of the meat and his tongue licked his fingers. He was truly an animal on display for the two boys watching. All conversations were lost to his hunger, even their question was ignored, at least until he finished cleaning himself and the plate. Modesty was a privilege and he was without it for the time being. Still, his cheeks glowed slightly as he watched the stares of the two boys. Recalling the question, Xander turned his attention to them, the glow of his blue eyes dimming down. "My name is Alexander, but I prefer to be called Xander for personal reasons." He replied, tilting his head. "And you two?"
She nods, that much was obvious, he didn’t quite seem the type to go hell bent on revenge. Then again, neither was she when she was younger. Things change once a fire is lit inside of them. Makoto stepped back, feeling his hand push her aside. It amused her how bold he was in doing so, but she kept her mouth shut about it.
A small sense of relief, at least he wouldn’t be the type to cling to her, though his plea certainly caught her off guard. Nothing she couldn’t accommodate him with, his lack of care for himself worried her though.
“Death is something I can easily grant you and promise to deliver if it’s what you truly want, but would you really give up so easily? Do you really think of yourself so weak? To be the only one left still says something about you.”
The hunter drew a deep breath, keeping her distance from him, watching and studying his movements.
“Are you scared?”
A rage lit inside him at her words. Moving closer, he pushed her hard against the wall, his hand grabbing the wrist that held the blade, then the other grabbing her wrist that went for the gun. He glared harshly at the hunter, sweat pouring down his brow and body trembling. "I'm fucking terrified." He admitted, a growl building inside him as he spoke. "If you're not scared, you're an idiot."
He then pushed away, letting go of her wrists and stepping away from her form. "It's not that I'm the only one left. I ran away. The pard that I ran away from is still alive and still angry. They've been chasing me for over a year now, all because I couldn't handle staying with this vampire. Do you have any idea what this vampire will do to me?" He asked, his face going pale, his eyes terrified. "The last were that ran from him ended up with his arms and legs amputated and burned so they couldn't grow back."
Xander turned from her and closed his eyes, the image scaring him, making him tremble harder. "I'm asking you to kill me out of pity if I get captured. I can't, I won't live like that."
Kieran cleaned up around the small apartment as their stranger slept on the sofa. he was trying to occupy himself. He couldn’t just stand their and stare at the other, as Liam was doing, sitting quietly in the arm chair and watching him sleep. Kieran finally finished cleaning and scoured their cupboards for food. He put soup on before hearing a faint sound come from the living room. When he got out there the man was standing up, clearly disoriented.
“Easy.” Kieran sighed as the other made such a fuss, “You’re fine. You helped me in the alley remember? You passed out.” the older brother explained, looking to Liam who seemed like he was ready to throw punches if need be. Liam was a scrappy nineteen year old, barely a hundred and ten pounds soaking wet and dripping in attitude. Liam stood as the other fell to the ground, glancing to Kieran who held up a hand to tell him to wait. He didn’t want Liam getting hurt, if this guy decided to lunge at either of them, he’d rather it be him.
“Have you eaten?” Kieran asked slowly, blind brow quirking, “You look half starved. Why don’t we help you up, and I’ll give you some food. Yeah?”
“Kieran…” Liam made a face at the offer, “We shouldn’t be doing this…” his older brother didn’t listen though, instead, he took a step forward and knelt down. A pale hand extended in offering.
It was strange how strangers, well the one stranger, showed him sympathy. Obviously it wasn't something he was used to and he showed his uncertainty when he looked down at the offered hand. His eyes shifted to the other boy who spoke his doubts and Xander couldn't help but smirk at him. "He's right, you know. You shouldn't be helping strangers. Good way to get you hurt." Looking down once more at the extended hand, Xander hesitated before he placed his hand on the other's. "Guess I should follow my own advice, huh?" He tried to smile, but his free hand moved to his stomach and he crouched over once more. Looking up at the one the other boy called Kieran, Xander shook his head. "No I haven't. I fear if I don't soon, I'm going to do something I regret." The leopard admitted, his eyes scrunching together in pain.
"Meat, cooked or not; cold or hot. It doesn't matter at this point." The leopard demanded, regardless he had no right to demand. Still, if he didn't get something soon, he would be leaving this place a lot bloodier than it was now, full on regret.
