“You want me to be the ass end of a cow? Do you really think that a crippled kid is gonna work well in a two person cow costume?” Why was he agreeing to this any how? If he was going to dress up, he might as well be in his own separate costume. 

“We’d probably get more candy if we were in a separate costume. Except…The problem with that is finding a costume, or making one.”

         -- “ Of course! I mean, cows are the best thing in the world so it has to be the best costume as well! ”

Presenting his flawless logic, Kenji had failed to consider aspects such as the practical hows and wheres, as well as the fact that his conversational partner might not be as enthusiastic as he was.

        -- “ Of course it will be easier if we go separately, but you can’t be a proper cow with just one person, right? Beside, I’m sure it’ll be lots of fun! ”

LOCATION: Connecting Islands, Venari Forest.

Even with the scare tactics that he had known that has been effective for others, the miniature monster simply won’t budge and throw him a candy. Instead, blankly staring at him, reflecting back an all too similar expression that he has. It was starting to be annoying.

Though he supposed it wasn’t helping that he’s failing to give his best since he had also paid extreme caution of his surroundings, paranoid for potential bugs in the said forest. Perhaps he should learn to give up and quit the quest that he had bestowed upon himself. There were better options than scaring a tiny monster minding its own business, after all.

  [ ..!? ] He’ll do just that, right after the approaching stranger shows what they got. Maybe they can collaborate at the task? It doesn’t say anything about a joint-effort scare being forbidden in the memo.

Halloween a concept the young boy had never once before encountered in his 14 years, Kenji had very quickly taken the occasion to heart. He was after all a lover of fun first and foremost, especially seeing how much work everyone else put into it, even if he didn’t understand most of the festivities. Why carve in perfectly edible pumpkins and roes? Why dress up and scare others? He still couldn’t crack this concept, but he had lots of interest nevertheless.

And of course, wherever he went he would stick his nose into other people’s business. The flamboyant hair colour and the peculiar hair extensions Kenji naturally presumed to be part of some costume, and thus he figured there was nothing wrong about approaching the stranger.

          -- “ Hi! What are you doing? Can I join in? ”

She almost didn’t pause on her way back. However, after a moment of scrutinizing the boy, she was certain he had been addressing her. Was it rude to decline? Was it worse to accept help from a kid? The idea of dumping all the ingredients Sera asked for on him didn’t particularly seem appealing. Because that also mean he would have to accompany her.

“No… thanks. I’m fine.” The bags weren’t particularly heavy, though there was indeed quite a few. Her reply came out awkward ( just like how she felt ) as she took a step towards her destination.

          -- “ I gotta say though, I’m impressed, neesan! ”

Not for a moment picking up on the fact that his advances were being turned down probably because the woman wished to remain in solitude, Kenji folded his arms behind his body and followed suit. Flip, flop, went his shoes against the asphalt as he watched the multitude of shopping bags carried by one single person.

         -- “ You must be pretty strong right? To carry so much all on your own! Could it be you have super strength too?! ”

Entirely forgetting he was not supposed to discuss matters of ability users to civilians, Kenji spoke such words without a care in the world.

“Because– if you’re comparing me to calf then that means I’m weak. I don’t want to be seen as weak what so ever. There are plenty of people who think I’m a horrid person, but that’s not my point and I couldn’t care less what people thought. Why should I be nice to the world when it’s been horrid to me? If I’m a cow, then the world is a merciless butcher. I don’t want to be the cow, I want to be the butcher. Returning what this horrible excuse for life has given me.”

          -- “ I’m not really sure I get it. I mean, if you’re a calf then you still have room to grow. How is that weak? Calves are really admirable because they are incomplete but still try their best to grow into beautiful cows that will produce lots of good milk. Beside, if you’re a cow that’s had nothing but horrible experiences, maybe that’s not the world entirely but just your caretakers? Not every farmers should be allowed to care for animals. ”

She wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the boy. The optimism she usually displayed was being numbed by both her apparent sleepiness and the fact she was still trying to cope with the loss of the Misaka Network, but at his cheerful smile and optimistic words it brought out a smile of her own. He was right of course. Last Order was Last Order. It didn’t matter that she was different.

“ “Ah! That reminds Misaka of another boy she knows!” says Misaka Misaka with a smile as she taps her chin with an index finger. “He understood that being different wasn’t bad. You’re right! Misaka is Last Order and that’s that,” declares Misaka Misaka proudly, puffing out her chest to show her pride. “But Misaka wouldn’t throw you off of a cliff! You’re too nice to be a criminal! Misaka doesn’t think she could lift you anyways,” says Misaka Misaka as she tilts her head in confusion, shocked that you would suggest something like that. ”

It was naivete that led her to be so trusting of people. Even if someone she was talking to showed warning signs of a bad person, it would most likely fly over her head if she liked them - more so if she considered them as a friend. She, too, had very little room for negativity.

“ “Ihatovo Village…?” ” She tilted her head back for a moment in thought. “ “Misaka doesn’t think she’s heard of that place before,” says Misaka Misaka with a shrug. “Misaka used to lived in Academy City. She’s never been to a village before. What was it like?” questions Misaka Misaka as she pats the seat next to her, urging you to sit down before you start explaining. ”

Admittedly it took some getting used to, but slowly feeling more and more confident in deciphering what was actually being said. He had to think of it both as action as well as conversation, and in such a way it began making sense to him. Entirely on the same wavelength -- or so he assumed -- he lifted an informing index finger.

          -- “ If that’s what you worry about then it’s no problem! I’m not very heavy! Or you could just roll me! That’d work too! So definitely, if I do something that’s a crime please make sure I get my punishment okay? You have to promise! I can’t be a detective if I’m also a criminal. ”

Or maybe they weren’t entirely on the same wavelength after all, but Kenji still managed to keep on flawlessly. He had always been surprisingly god with words, even if he had no idea of this talent. He had a very clear policy of how he wanted to be, what kind of human being he wanted to be, and he would follow it at any time. Never defeated by the rain or the wind. A boy who could stand tall and proud of himself, sincere of heart and serene of mind.

Accepting the (verbally) offered seat, Kenji let his body rest next to the girl’s with a thump. Long forgotten was the initial conflict of interests, because it had led him to find a new friend.

          -- “ Ihatovo is deep in the mountains of Japan. We don’t have electricity or any of those car things so it was a huge shock to me when I came to the city! You city dwellers really are impressive. The president and the others at the agency have shown me so many interesting things I would never have the chance to experience back in my village, so although a village is nice in some ways I still think the city is very cool. ”

          -- “ This will be perfect for fighting crime with! ”

It was a first to be so boldly called out on her speech pattern. Last Order forgot that they weren’t in academy city now so the chances of someone else having met another clone were slim to none. Now more awake than before she sat up to give the other boy her full attention, tilting her head as she spoke.

“ “Misaka’s name can be considered Last Order, since that is what she is usually referred as. She’s never been called Misaka Misaka before,” states Misaka Misaka in a curious tone, correcting your statement as that is what she thinks you are talking about. “Misaka doesn’t think her speech is strange,” says Misaka Misaka as she comments on you possibly making fun of her, now a worried that you are going to be mean to her for being a little different. ”

Shifting on the couch, she moved to grab at a pillow to hug it, seeking some form of comfort. Without the other Misaka Sisters to bounce off ideas and experiences from, it was just left to her own judgement. For a lack of better words it was lonely, quiet, and empty. “ “Misaka is going to assume you are not from the city based on the phrasing “I’ve met many interesting city dwellers”,” observes Misaka Misaka as she tries to get more information. ”

What, so it wasn’t Misaka, but Last Order? That was kind of confusing. Why address herself with one name when she went by another? Kenji tried to wrap his mind about it, but could only reach a reasoning such as it being a preference. Quirky people he already knew enough of at the agency, and many would even consider himself to be quite quirky. Many times before had he heard people say that gifted people all had something wrong with them, but Kenji was just Kenji so he didn’t see what was wrong with that.

          -- “ Why would I be mean to you for being different? Misaka Misaka or Last Order -- it doesn’t matter much if you’re just you, does it? If I was a mean person then I would let you tie me up and throw me off a cliff like they do to the other criminals! ”

Rocking back on his feet, Kenji who was excited to have met a new friend failed to notice the sorrow within the other. Perhaps it was a flaw, but the farmer boy’s outlook on life was so positive that he had no room for any negativity in his mindset.

          -- “ Ooooh you got that right. That’s impressive. I only came to the city recently -- before that my family had a farm in Ihatovo Village where I was herding cows. ”

“Grow into a big and beautiful cow?!” Not with anger, but with confusion were his words spoken. Did he really look like some calf?  This kid, he was so strange yet something just kept pushing him to talk to Kenji. “–Tch. I honestly don’t think I can change any further who I am.”

          -- “ Eh? Why would you want to change? Aren’t you happy with who you are? You seem like a nice person so I can’t understand why you wouldn’t be. Even if you’re not a cow, if you just approach the world with sincerity and goodwill, then I’m sure you can reach an understanding with yourself and those around you! ”

It took her a couple of sleepy blinks to notice the boy that approached her. Truthfully, she had just been wandering around and once she had grown tired she found a suitable spot to lay down on. Last Order had no way of knowing that she currently occupied someone’s nap spot. For all she cared right now, this couch was hers.

With a tired smile she responded. “ “Misaka is fine,” says Misaka Misaka. “Misaka is just a little tired, so she decided to rest here,” explains Misaka Misaka. ” She took note of the pillow stack he made, nodding at him. “ “Ah, Misaka sees now,” says Misaka Misaka gratefully as she thanks you for your kindness. ”

          “ You speak in such a strange way! ”

Beaming what could very well be taking as an insult with a smile radiating pure innocence, Kenji, like he always did, spoke the first thing that came to mind. It was however not meant as anything even remotely resembling a complaint -- simply an observation of interest. The blonde did after all enjoy meeting new people and learning about their quirks. This one had to be a first and it interested him.

          “ I’ve met many interesting city dwellers, but never someone like you! It’s pretty funny! I love the city; it has so many new things and people I never knew about. So, if you’re Misaka Misaka, does that mean I’m Kenji Kenji?! ”

     She’d seen a fair share of powers in her life. All sorts of strange weapons and magic; in fact, she herself was one of those things that would cause any ‘normal’ person from a ‘normal’ world to stop and stare.

     She thought she had been prepared to see pretty much anything, but seeing a farm boy—a child—lift up a full-size car with ease shocked her significantly. Eve approached warily.

     “Are you… looking for something?”

Back in the village it had been no secret that Kenji had been born as a gifted person. He was not treated any diffrent, he was nothing special, just an ordinary farmer boy with superhuman strength. It was only when he had arrived in Tokyo for the first time that he was told himself to be different from other people. A human being with supernatural capabilities. He had been told to keep it a secret, and he tried, he really did, but when people in need of help appeared before him, it was easy to forget such small and unimportant things. Of course the old lady who had dropped an orange only to have it roll underneath a car was much more important.

However, now he was in another predicament. So when a voice called out to him, it was relief that filled the young boy.

          -- “ Ah! Yes, thank you! Could you pick up that orange maybe? I can’t lift this and grab the fruit at the same time. ”

          -- “ Adventure? Well, back in my village Papa would send me to trade a pig for a barrel of beer sometimes, but I thought that was bad in the city! The president told me I can’t use that money stuff to buy alcohol! I don’t want to become a bad guy who needs to be tied up and thrown off a cliff! ”

“Your logic is flawed. My body doesn’t have as much muscle mass as others and I’m considered underweight. The only thing that relates me to cow is if I stomp down on someone– they’re sure to die eventually.”

That was his spot. His nap spot. Occupied by a random girl. But was he angry about it? No, how could he possibly be? She seemed to be enjoying herself after all.

As some of you know I've been pretty damned ill for the past time and haven't been active as a result of that. Yesterday it had finally calmed down so much that i could start roleplaying for a bit but today i feel much better so later today i shall attempt to get to some replies on all blogs (Kenji, Junichirou, Shinobu, Tsukasa, King, Shishiou, Haruka and Tsubasa)! I'm terribly sorry in the delay that has been caused due to my holiday and illness but thank you for your patience!
