Varka has an unhealthy relationship with the pegghildr union

Like he considers himself apart of the marriage

He wouldn't consider himself to be the spouse of them, but he's definitely in the middle of that marriage, and he doesn't plan on getting out even though they're divorced now

He would continue saying that Jean and Barbara are his daughters as well but people took it the wrong way whenever he said it so now he doesn't

His justification is "You guys met because of me🥺" and he pairs it with puppy eyes even though it doesn't work on Frederica(works on Seamus but then again that man is inherently submissive he will give in to anything if you force him enough)

"Varka's dark side" but instead of being a jealous yandere daddy dom we take inspo from canon and instead make his flaws centred around how loyal the dude is. He literally saw Eroch, a long-time friend and fellow knight, commit suicide in front of him after he betrayed Mondstadt and just??? Shrugged it off??? Or at the very least, it didn't get mentioned again after the fact and neither does it seem that Varka's still particularly hung up about it.

He's so incredibly dedicated and willing to his home that he's able to perfectly deal with his friend committing suicide after betrayal. Just immediately switched up on him the moment it became clear that Eroch harmed Mondstadt. That's gotta imply something 'bout Varka's attitude at the very least, right? He's willing and able to accept insane things- like giving up a whole relationship without a shred of sadness -when it comes to his home. Again, dude didn't even really mourn. In game I read the event functioning more as a reminder for Varka that he's failable above all else. NOT the deep hurt he should be feeling over his friend doing such a thing. I'm not saying he's a bad guy or anything, but that's pretty messed up- isn't it?

In my head, I like to think that Guthred lived, somehow. He got to see how his medicine saved hundreds, thousands, even. To this day he served as Thrain's right hand man, and watched with a bittersweet relief when his beloved sacrified himself.

Fatuus Guthred would likely be much more cruel, and there'd certainly be many more arguments between him and Thrain. Though, secretly he'd be relieved that despite the torment he knows his husband goes through on the daily, he's still that same honourable man he was 500 years prior.

Pierro, Capitano and Guthred would absolutely have 'meetings' that are just hangouts. They'd speak to each other in Khaenri'ahn. They'd keep their culture alive, even only if in those moments of free time.

He'd mentor many, many generations of Fatui doctors. He'd have quite the reputation, too - for both his apprentices and the wounded alike. The type of man you'd want to avoid at all cost, if you can help it. All the rumours and stories of what he was like centuries ago seem quite tame in the face of the current Guthred.

Post Natlan, post losing Thrain, he'd be all alone for the first time in centuries. He understood why things had to play out that way. Of course he did, but 500 years hadn't rid him of his selfishness. Nobody could fill the void that his beloved left behind. Guthred became distant, closed off, isolated. Without the only person who had the guts --- the right --- to keep him in check, he only fell deeper into his immoral practices, his disagreeable decisions.

In saving the souls of their comrades, the living suffered at the hands of a man broken beyond saving.

At least Thrain was free.

I enjoy Varka being just some random guy who rose to the top through skill and a shit load of determination and resilience, but I also like the idea of him being the younger brother of Frederica.

Just imagine working incredibly hard, making your parents proud by being a proper, disciplined Gunnhildr heir, only for your scruffy lazy little sibling with a truancy problem to overtake you and to end up a higher rank than you. Frederica being livid, and so begin the endless squabbles!

Varka loves teasing her, and she'd smack him around the head in return, scolding him for making a mockery of their family and the lecturing him about the importance of legacy.

Exasperated by childish nicknames, having a go at him whenever he calls her Freddie in front of a squad of knights she's commanding. Still, even if she's sick of him and perhaps a teeeeny bit jealous, Frederica worries about him a lot. Always going out and doing reckless things --- Varka's going to get himself killed one of these days!

When the expedition was being planned, and Frederica was told exactly what her little brother was going to do, she was so anxious for his safety that she considered trapping him inside the basement of the Gunnhildr mansion and keeping him there for the rest of eternity.

Varka as an uncle? Bad influence. Stay away from Jean and Barbara; don't corrupt them with whatever you've got going on! Took them out often (read: snatched them from underneath their parent's noses) to explore Mondstadt's wilderness, which lead to both Freddie and Seamus losing hair from stress. The rest of it? Rapidly going grey.
