— INDULGENT INFORMATION SECTION !!! — 🌿 vincenzo underwood [ he / him ] — a tired man in his late 40's. he works as a sort of goverment-ordered ecologist for his town's local and mysterious forest. he lived alone for a long time, with only the occasional visit to his twin brother to keep him [ mostly ] sane. 🌿 his family life before his partner is wrought with turmoil; his brother and himself left for the states from their troubled home[s] in the UK and Spain. his father was less than ideal, leading him to be closer with his mother, who was villainized. he rebelled in his college years by joining a glam-rock styled band — he's always been pulled to music, and his bandmates were bright lights in his dark life. but after college, he chose to move, encouraging his brother to follow him as they carved a new life for themselves. 🌿 he'd spend a long time alone. at least, until a young artist named angel came into his life. 🍎 angel [ underwood ] [ he/vae ] — a slightly less tired, yet similarly troubled 20-something. he works as a freelance digital and sometimes traditional artist. as his main job to pay the bills, he works in a local library. he lives alone ever since he was kicked from his parent's home at 18 years old. he doesn't have many friends, and uses his self-expression in art and music to keep him sane. 🍎 angel's always lived in this mountainous, rural town; in fact he feels stuck in it. his parents never resented him, they tried their best to help him with his plethora of problems. he felt loved, yes, but when he turned 18 . . . they'd expected him to just figure everything out. he feels behind his peers, incredibly lost in life, and lacks a stable identity to hold onto in general. 🍎 at certain points, very frequently, angel felt there was no future for him. until he keeps running into a certain older man who always has the advice he needs to hear. —————— 💕 vincenzo is unsure of himself, especially with the age-gap. he's worried he'll be overbearing, or out-of-touch, or . . . just not a good fit for the younger man. he spends time at the library where angel works: he checks out books he already knows, front-to-back, just for a chance to talk to angel. he offers to grab coffee for angel nearly every morning. he listens intently as angel tells him about his newest work-in-progress. he knows from the start he likes angel, a lot . . . it turns into a fondness he struggles to name. [ 🌿:: love language? acts of service, quality time ] 💕 angel is doubly unsure of himself. he's always been the type to avoid conflict, but this was a case where he felt he needed to get closer to the issue. he spends many nights lying awake just wondering . . . am i good enough? he practices watercolors just to paint vincenzo landscapes to give as gifts. he begins casually exercising in order to join vincenzo on bi-weekly hikes. he learns to crochet for the sake of making vince warmer accessories for the upcoming winter. and he knows he's fucked when he starts remembering to take his meds, to tidy his space, and starts a self-care routine. [ 🍎 :: love language? gift giving, acts of service ] 💕 when they eventually begin dating, they never leave the honeymoon phase. they spoil each other, care for each other, and are insufferable to be around with their constant PDA. vincenzo gets the urge to show off angel to his twin brother [ finch, said brother, dgaf ]. anytime one of them falls, the other picks them up with a gentleness unknown to either of them. they give each other everything they wanted for themselves. angel finds his identity alongside vincenzo, and vincenzo is able to dream of making a future that little him would've never known. 💕 it's no surprise when vincenzo proposes. they were practically married already, this just made them legally recognized. the wedding is small, yet grand enough for both of them. they'd been living together already, so no moving was to be done. they get to have their happily ever after <3
