FUCK - 2016
Acrylic on MDF

This bold piece contains many different meanings all based on the viewers interpretation of it.
It could mean fuck 2016, the year it all started to turn to shit; the year were we had some of the worst shootings across the world in different continents; the year where the rest of the world watched the USA elect for the worst presidential candidate; or even it just being the absolute shittist year for yourself.
However; it could well be the idea of anti-conformity and wanting to have your own voice and do what you believe is right and not doing what you are told is right. Could even be taken another step further to say fuck the government and banks which control us all through fear, the fear of money and how it is the deciding factor in our lives if we live or die, or even our daily choices.
By using bold colours it captures the attention of the audience from across the room pulling them in deeper into the piece and sparking their imagination to try and reinterprete it to "get them" on a more personal level.

Utopia without humans - 2015
Mixed media on paper (experimental)
What is your perspective of the idea of utopia?
My perspective of the ideal utopia has been represented in my artwork. This landscape is composed of a self sustaining ecosystem which is free from the corruption of society and the negative connotations associated. All of which is attributed to by the human species and it's dominance over the planet consuming all in its path without a thought of the consequences.
The balanced use of warm and cool organic colours produce a welcoming scenery which captivated the viewers imagination and create a warm and happy feeling due to it's peaceful aesthetics.

What is the difference between the average male and female?
I believe that the obvious physical and stereotypical differences between these two genders are each irrelevant to a person’s internal capability. Are not males and females actually just human beings? People of both genders consist of a heart, a brain, organs and a body that holds it all together.
Gender equality is still a serious and controversial topic of discussion in the world today and this pressing issue deserves thought, and a fair resolution. Through my work I wish to examine the attitudes of those in our culture and respond to how we often segregate genders without even knowing it.
Within western society in the 1970s there was a huge movement that supported women’s rights and allowed women and men to be seen as equals. Sadly, in many other countries, they are still extremely conservative; many societies still segregate the male and female gender in many ways and this means that discrimination and ancient and unfair prejudices are still present.
However the concept of gender equality is not just targeted towards the female gender; it includes both males and females. Domestic violence is an issue where both males and females are victims. However how often do you hear about a male being physically abused by a female? When this occurs, society conjures the idea that the male is weak and insignificant.
Gender equality expands over more than just domestic violence. The manor in which people are required to act and dress causes self harm across both genders; you find certain products which are only targeted for one gender, an example of this is make up and hair dye which is targeted for women when men too use these products and are then shunned by society for doing so.
I believe that everyone deserves equal rights and opportunities throughout the entire world. The style of my piece was selected to catch the eye of my audience and this is achieved through my larger than life canvas, a tight composition and the use of a bright palette. The division of the face in my portrait reinforces the message that males, females are all the same; HUMAN.

How many of us on a regular basis would be walking through the CBD and see these all too familiar scenes? And how many of you would actually stop to hear their story and spare them some loose change? Most people would just walk straight past and pretend as though they weren't even there. There is a major housing crisis in this country of ours and what has the government been doing to help get it's citizens off the streets and help them back onto their feet. Because sadly in this country to get back on one's feet, one needs a residential address to even receive government support. So many of these poor people are left in this catch 22. I captured these senses at the King William St foot bridge in Perth, WA
