RoP dog notes. It's neat to see them populating Middle Earth and Númenor. :)
Scruffy dogs of the Pelargir. I think a Scottish Deerhound or similar looking lurcher and, not sure, a terrier mix maybe?
Saluki and Silken Windhounds (probably the hunting dogs of the elves, maybe a bit smaller than the ones from Valinor? Or Huan was just a Unit even among them) in Ost-in-Edhil:
The Saluki at least made it out to Imladris. :o There was apparently slightly more footage with the Windhounds, but it was cut for time.
And a Windhound also on Númenor, interestingly! Númenorians were noted for having dogs, but they did not hunt for sport or food (at least according to The Fall of Númenor). My headcanon is they were gifts from the Noldor, famously big on hunting, back when relations were good.

Zenos for All Saints' Wake. I miss this weird boy. <3
He knows my mind. And I know his.
And finished up! :) Still not ok. :(
When watching the Rings of Power I definitely didn’t expect a REAL CAPRIOLE to be performed during a battle sequence. What a treat to see this ancient classical dressage move in action! It’s so under-utilised in medieval/fantasy horse battle sequences.
The origin of dressage was all about training horses for mounted warfare - usually for knights and higher ranking classes. Classical dressage was about building horses to be reliable mounts and even be able to function as a weapon themselves with “airs above the ground” moves like the capriole.
I had the biggest horse geek out when I saw it!
And it was trained with a mix of traditional and treats too! 😍

WIP. Help me earn it back. BRUH, this finale.
"...But when the darkness falls, there are always some who rise forth and shine. Eärendil, Tuor, *extra hushed tone* Beren, son of Barahir."
Is someone still salty about a girl and her dog, coming to save her boyfriend, and in the process wiping the floor with a dark lord during his desk job era?
What kills me extra is that he only catches Finrod and Beren's group when they fail to observe proper clock-out procedure because Sauron is That kind of dark lord. Micromanaging Eregion with twitchy cheek stress face is legit.
*hello there*
IN WHICH BULLY CLOUD IS JUST SEPHIROTH HOBBY
It's getting into The Long Dark season which means cozy video gaming which means periods of combat followed by cutscenes of Sephiroth personal spacing Cloud.
