  she reached out forward for his pinky, letting her own link on to it before her thumb moved to find his. she was definitely making her point. although as soon as she pulled away, a small smile rested on her lips. she was finally reassured, and even though she really didnât want to do it, she was ready. she had to at least try. âjust.. no taking me into the middle otherwise i really will drown.â her fingers gently drummed against the fabric covering her stomach, letting out a small breath before she slowly shimmied into the water, immediately turning around to hold onto the edge again.
    âdo you really think knowing how to swim is valuable though? because iâve been living fine all my life.â she was complaining and deflecting, something that was very unlike her, but it did just show how afraid she was. another deep breath in and out and she was reaching her arm out for him, obviously wanting to start and wanting it to be over and done with as quickly as possible. âletâs see how fast you can teach me because i already hate this.â jiyoung mumbled, still half clinging to the wall. âokay.. so what first?â
for as awful as it probably was, alĂ©x couldnât help but be a little amused by how afraid of the water jiyoung seemed to be. surely it was a genuine fear, but in water not much higher than two thirds of her height, the pool was hardly a threat to jiyoung. so, in hopes of lightening the mood, he expressed this. âitâs no danger to you while your feet are touching; actually, the benefit of learning as an adult is that the pool isnât too much bigger than you like it is when youâre a kid.â he tried to reason, even though he knew itâd probably prove futile. âstill though, i promise weâll only take you to where youâre ready to go. iâm not trying to drown you on your first time in the water, iâm positive my training goes against all of that.â
still, he was fairly impressed that sheâd actually managed to get inside the pool, so he figured heâd be a little nicer about it. âitâs a survival skill in case you ever end up in the water, and itâs easy exercise if you hate runningâ i promise itâs really not that hard. just, like; cup your hands and sway them back and forth like this. and kick your legs underwater like youâre riding a bicycle like this. see?â he demonstrated, hoping he was at least semi-decent of a teacher. âif you can do that, youâre treading water. and if you canât, the ground is literally right underneath you.â

Jackson nodded, grateful that AlĂ©x had coincidentally been there at the right time to help out. He never wouldâve thought that heâd have to rely on a student for help with something like this, but he also wasnât opposed to it. Jackson needed connections in South Korea. He had only recently moved here for this professor job and doesnât have any of the connections you need to survive on your own like he did in Georgia. His only real connection here, other than his job, was his old friend and coworker, Aaron Ahn. Jackson felt like if AlĂ©x did a good job on his bike, then heâd at least have a handyman he could count on, and hell, even a friend despite the unprofessionalism of it all.Â
âI really appreciate all of this. Especially the discount. Go ahead and call the tow, Iâll grab my stuff and catch a ride with you or the tow truck over to your shop. I might need to make a detour by my place though.â Jackson smiled, he still hadnât forgotten about the whiskey calling his name at home, though he figured he might enjoy it more with a drinking buddy beside him. Before turning to pick up his bag he left on the curb beside him, Jackson looked at AlĂ©x, âYou donât need to filter yourself by the way. Itâs after my office hours, Iâm not a professor right now.â
@mvnalx·
alĂ©x did feel slightly more at ease the more professor daniels explained himselfâ generally, he was always one to try and keep professors on his good side, so he had no chance at fucking his future career up further. generally, his day to day delinquency provided enough risk in that department, anyway. âsounds like a plan; iâll put it all back together and call my guy, and whatever else you need on the way is totally cool.â really, if not for the fact that his grades relied on a good relationship with the man, he had to admit that he was charmed by the rest of him, too. the southern accented english was a comfort, and definitely the looks were an asset; to be fair, he really wouldnât mind spending the extra couple hours with the professor.Â
âhey uh, professor?â he began, as he started to reassemble the few parts of the bike heâd dismantled in the investigation process. âyouâre pretty alright, you know? you seem like a decently cool dude, and you get bonus points for the harley. usually people in your field are a lot more uptight, but youâre not.â

Doing laundry was definitely one of Jasperâs least favourite chores. Cooking was great because you got to eat afterwards and with cleaning there was the satisfaction of seeing a clean space. But laundry? You have to wash your clothes, dry them, put them away and then it might take weeks or even months to wear that particular item of clothing again. Still you should wash it because you donât know when youâre going to need it again. And there was the smell too, of course.Â
Admittedly it was also one of the times he missed the comfortableness of living with his parents. Itâs a fact that clothes get dirtier way quicker when you have to do your own laundry and it suddenly doesnât appear like you have infinite pairs of underwear when they donât magically reappear in the closet.Â
The noise coming from his phone reminded Jasper that it was time to get his clothes out of the washing machine. When he saw that they werenât in there anymore he was going to say thank you for taking some work off his shoulders. Except they were still wet.Â
âUh, what were you planning on doing with my clothes?âÂ
honestly, alĂ©x was mostly prepared to sit here for the better part of a couple hours til his load had finished and he could get on with his lifeâ he hated doing chores like this, and especially when the level of inconvenience only intensified. itâs not like he totally wanted to cause shit in the communal laundry room, but he had shit to do, and most of it was being anywhere but here.
however, as was always his luck (and especially today), it would appear that things would only get more complicated from there. of course, the owner of the wet laundry heâd haphazardly thrown on top of the laundry machines, had come to check on his clothes. shit then. it was gonna go like this today.
âto be frank, iâm pretty short on time, and yours was the unlucky load. i have literally nothing to wear tomorrow, and literally all the machines were full. i figured whoever had their stuff in here was just gonna have to deal til iâd finished.â he was rarely short of blunt and entirely honest when he was in a mood; surely he wouldnât make friends by being a total asshole, but there was little he could do after the deed had already been done.Â
âreally, both of our clothes are wet now, so thereâs really no winning here. do you want like, two bucks for the soap i stole?â
sideblogs suck but kijung (my new sehyoon oc) is over here and imma post a thing for him rn pls show him some love juseyo

   âi trust you.. i really do. but i donât know how comfortable i am getting into a pool that is almost twice the size of me, when i could quite obviously drown and die.â jiyoung pouted, her legs simply dipping into the pool as she sat on the ledge. she had been all for this learning experience, but that was before she came face to face with the pool. âi get youâre qualified and everything, or about to be⊠but i donât know if i can get in.â it was odd â for someone as active and adventurous as she was, swimming was just something that she never learned to do. as soon as she hit the water, she became frantic to get out of it, and it wasnât like she had a bad experience as a kid. she just absolutely hated it. âpinky promise that you wonât let me die?â @mvnalx
this was possibly... fairly ambitious for alĂ©x to take on, agreeing to teach jiyoung to swim. he wouldnât deny that he was a star member of the universityâs swim team, but generally he stuck to that rather than lifeguard duties. still, he figured it was a skill that would prove useful in anyoneâs life, and that was enough to motivate him to help (along with his melting resolve when it came to denying her things).Â
reaching up to where jiyoung sat on the side of the pool, he offered his own pinky in affirmation. âpinky promise. if you start to feel like youâre losing control, you can literally just stand upâ the benefit of learning how to swim as an adult. that, and i literally legally cannot let you die, so i promise nothing is gonna happen.â
alĂ©xandre could barely remember when he himself had learned to swim, since it was something that came as naturally to him now as breathing air did, but he figured heâd have to try his best and be patient. âitâs less bad if you go in quick and all at once, but if you wanna take it slow, thatâs your call.â
very notably, there were two things about this nightâs specific ghost hunt. first, as with at least half of them, they shouldnât have been there in the first place; yongma land was generally open to the public during the day, but spirit activity was always easiest to find evidence of at night. second, alĂ©x and juno definitely shouldnât have been here after a few drinks together while they were about to do something illegal. nonetheless, no factors stopped the two as they arrived at the gates.Â
a bag full of equipment for the night at hand, alĂ©xandre stared up at the barricade. âso weâve got like, two optionsâ either i bolt cut my way in, or we hop the fence.â he surveyed the area, at least having mind enough to check for potential cameras around. none were visible from his vantage point, which at least left them with more options.
âminding that we might get our asses kicked by that barbed wire, what could go wrong?â surely expensive equipment could be damaged or they could get caught for that matter, but a few beers in, those were the least of his worries.

âWell, you certainly seemed prepared,â Jackson eyed the toolbox AlĂ©x had removed from his backpack. He didnât question why it was in there in the first place since AlĂ©x claimed to know how to fix vehicles.
âIâd really appreciate the help, and I promise Iâll pay you for the cost of labor plus any parts that may need to be replaced.â Jackson felt slightly more relieved, knowing he might be able to get his bike fixed within the next hour or so. That bottle of whiskey was calling his name, and who was he to deny it? Maybe he could even invite AlĂ©x to join him for a drink if that wasnât too unprofessional of him. If it was, Jackson could always look past a few mistakes on some homework. For some reason, money didnât seem like enough for having a student give up their free time.Â
âIâm gonna stand over here, out of your way so you can do what you need to do. Let me know if I can give you a hand or something, but I know basically nothing about the mechanics of a motorcycle.â Jackson laughed at himself, it wasnât his typical nature to let someone else fix his problems, but he just got that bike and doesnât want to screw it up more by googling the issue. Taking a few steps back, Jackson watched AlĂ©x intently.
@mvnalx·
after receiving conformation to touch professor danielsâ bike, alĂ©x set to work at what he was good at. first, he did a once-over of the entire thing, to see if anything was disconnected or unscrewed. after seeing that nothing was visibly wrong, he figured itâd be a good idea to get a better look.Â
âiâm assumingââ he began to unscrew the back of the bikeâs seat, taking a little extra care; he couldnât afford a bad mark in this class, and he also didnât particularly feel like starting bad relationships. gently, after he finished, he set the seat on the ground so as to look at the battery and its hookups.Â
ââthat it has something to do with the battery, or your starter. nothing looks broken around the sides, and nothing is leaking or anything.â this, and none of the wires looked at all melted and frayed. still, he fiddled with a few wires, and disconnected the battery before reconnecting the wires attachedâ and yet, nothing when he turned the keys in the ignition.Â
hands on his hips, he sighed. âi can get us a tow to get it back to the shop and we can start with a battery to see if thatâs the problem, but if not, weâll get you a whole new starter; definitely at a discount, though. iâm not gonna make you pay full price for shi- er, bad luck.â quick to correct himself so as to not fuck up in front of the man in charge of his grades, he offered a small smirk. âyouâre in luck, though; weâve got the best shop in town.â
