dear game squad,

good things always come in pairs, i just noticed. for example, hot chocolate and marshmallow, peanut butter and jelly, also daphne and iseul. considering that we are called The Game Squad, but actually none of you actually actively play any video games; we are a bunch of phonies. that’s alright, i guess. club penguin, c.a.h and habbo hotel counts too. i’m not into sappy letters or emotions but here i go… thank you for being such wonderful friends with me. i wouldn’t trade this with anything else. i obviously am aware that i come off as rude and plain mean a lot of times but please know that i never mean any of those things. i personally admire you two for coping up with me and my drama king ass, we all know i do come off as unnecessary too sometimes (or most of the times). though, there are some times that i’m quiet. i’m still around lurking and caring about you both. there are a lot of memories i treasure until my last breath and i really consider our friendship to be a part of the most beautiful moment in my life. seriously. thank you for making my life great. thank you for always being there for me, all the time, without fail. i hope i could be there for you too for as long as my body allows me to. last but not least, don’t forget to stream wings: you never walk alone on music streaming sites and also the music video on youtube. see you guys this weekend! i got you both good tickets for the wings tour in seoul. clear your damn schedules for me. thanks.

“This one is hard. A ‘best friend’ is someone who has never truly been defined to me. I feel so strongly towards many people that I’d hate to choose just one. So how about I talk about the person I feel that I can call my soulmate instead?

Her name is Iseul, and she is one of the most wonderful beings I have ever met. We clicked right away and seemed to have a deep and mutual understanding. It’s kind of creepy sometimes how we feel the same, cope in the same ways or just have the same weird things happening to us every day. Whenever I am around her I feel like I am understood and accepted, which is hard to achieve considering how I work.

I don’t know when exactly, but one day we stopped being polite and all too deep with each other and just took the next step, as you could call it. Now we talk in a carefree way about anything and are even closer than before. She is kind of gay, to be honest. Just like me.

I consider myself lucky. Iseul is one of the best people I have ever met. Patient, kind, loving, understanding, funny, clever, beautiful on the inside and on the outside. I hope that I won’t have to go a single day without her, because I don’t know if I could function then.“

not so sure of what to do yet, he just stood there like a petrified tree, still trying to process things in his head – should he continue eating or worry about his clothes? he made a decision to just continue eating the last bits of the odeng that was on the stick, until iseul came over to squish his cheeks and made him feel slightly embarrassed (not in a bad way) from her action as they were in public anyway. quickly, he hurried over towards the trash can to get rid of everything before he came back to her without saying anything (waiting for iseul to give him a tissue) and his face – it was obvious that he was still flustered. “i thought i was going to go deaf already.” he mumbled, knowing that the female was probably used to him joking like that and he immediately grabbed the tissue from her so he could wipe the stain on his shirt while letting out displeased noises. “my shirt.. i got this from europe and now it will probably look ugly even after i wash it.” after somewhat almost 10 whole minutes of them just standing there, yoongi was satisfied with his attempt of cleaning his shirt so they moved along. but of course, he kept looking down at his shirt for every 10 seconds and let’s not even talk about the groaning so he just continued to complain about it to his best friend. “it feels icky. i should buy a new shirt and change but then i’d have to hold a bag and i’m totally not in the mood for that.” there he went, literally facepalming while whining like a little kid, then he looked over at iseul with the biggest frown. “help me. i’m going to die.”

the contrast between his actions was amusing. first he was making sure to finish his snack with all the calmness he could gather, but the next second, once she had given him a tissue to clean himself up, it was like she pulled a trigger. he whined and complained, didn’t stop for quite a while. not that she would complain, really, in fact she was experiencing hell of a cute side of his. so frustrated and lost, if they weren’t in public, she’d still be squishing his cheeks, would be hugging his head to her chest like a protective mother. yoongi could come off pretty intimidating and distant, could seem cold, but this was definitely a refreshing change. silently, she was walking by his side, was listening to him like he was listening to her earlier. but this whole time she was wearing an idiotical grin on her lips, couldn’t get rid of it. the mere fact that a simple stain on his shirt was throwing him off so badly showed how much of an actual baby he was. when it seemed like he was done venting, iseul looked at him, only to realize he was already glancing at her as well. he voiced his plead, definitely made the female burst into a fit of soft chuckles. him and nyx were without doubt the most adorable best friends one could have. ❝i’m not letting you die, first of all..❞ again, she stopped him and shoved him to the side of the way. ❝second of all..❞ her eyes scanned the shirt in all seriousness. ❝it’s not that bad, really. but if you feel so uncomfortable, we will buy a new shirt. i will carry the bag, it’s no big deal, mh? momma iseul won’t let baby yoongi down.❞

the last time he went to myeondong was probably years ago, before debut as he had more time back then compared to now. but breaks are nothing if you don’t spend it with a friend so there he was with seo iseul, finally seeing each other after weeks of his crazy packed schedule. the whole damn time, she was basically complaining how bad yoongi was at keeping in touch – well she was right. he went on all those weeks without any texts, phone calls and he didn’t even read their groupchat messages with daphne, let alone a video call. as if he was dead. it was his fault anyway for getting too engrossed in his work and not letting personal things get in the way so he kept quiet, listening to his best friend’s lecture while being busy trying to finish his odengs. little did he know that it was a BAD move because some random passerby accidentally bumped into him and made him accidentally spill all the sauce on his jacket – some even got on his shirt, making him stop in track. he was actually dumbfounded rather than angry and he let out a deep sigh. “well, i hope this makes you happy now. i really do deserve this. it’s my favorite shirt. damn, karma is sure quick to get back to you.”

work was inevitable - if someone knew, then iseul. she herself had packed schedules and even if she was free sometimes, it wasn’t impossible for her to get a call and be forced to work. but she always tried to get back to her beloved ones, always tried her best to stay in contact. which hadn’t been the case for yoongi. she felt upset, somewhat betrayed. and even if she didn’t like exploding on yoongi, even if usually she did not complain much about him, this time it seemed necessary. so instead of meeting up to spend quality time together, she used the opportunity to lecture him. she really just let her inner mother hang out. like a good kid, he listened calmly, did not talk back. and maybe that was a mistake of his, because that only led to iseul going on and on about things. until a minor inconvenience happened. before yoongi spoke up, the girl didn’t even notice he had stopped in his tracks. she had taken a few more steps forward and then spun around to look at him. his words, the scene presented, hilarious. one should’ve felt bad for him, but iseul, being the good best friend she was, couldn’t help but burst out into laughter. he looked so perplexed, like a child that dropped its ice cream on the floor before getting to taste it. his face looked adorable, to say the least, and so she walked over to him to squish his cheeks together, still unable to stop her chuckles.  ❝to be quite honest, i am happy now. i’ll even stop nagging, i promise. hold on, i’ll give you a tissue, let’s hope we can get rid of the stain at least a little bit.❞

“You really have. You really lost it.” The older female sighed as she concentrated on stitching up the other, hands moving carefully to not cause any more injury to the limb. “I get it. Your job is dangerous but please, be careful next time.” She frowned as she continued to stitch up, keeping her gaze fixated on the female’s arm. Once she was done, she took her gloves off before tossing them in the bin, a small smile forming on her lips. “Your arm will be fine. Come back in a few days to get it checked out. Do you want me to prescribe any pain medication?”

❝Oh stop exaggerating..❞ And before she could say anything else, the other female continued her work, causing Iseul to grimace at the stinging feeling. It certainly wasn’t her first time being stitched up after a rough night at work; that didn’t mean she got any used to it though. Really, in fact, she didn’t enjoy doctors’ offices at all. But Amelia is a pediatrician; kind of .. more gentle. Considering Iseul is still a child at heart, she was the right person for her. ❝Mh.. I already am as careful as I can be. I can’t help if there’s people that act unpredictable.❞ Unpredictable people were all she worked with, but there were some worse than others. You could be busy with one criminal and have another bump into you to help the first out. You were never really secure. Once the elder was done, Iseul skipped off the patient bed and smiled at her. ❝I’ll be back in around three days. Unless I get into more trouble.❞ A nod followed. ❝Pain medication, euh.. I think I still have some left from last time. So I’m good!❞

❝Jihae..❞ Her rage was understandable. And Iseul didn’t at all blame her for being mad. But this was a little difficult. It was a case that was wanted by many uniformed police officers, however, could not be done by just anyone. Not even Iseul had ever dreamt to be the chosen one, but perhaps this was finally her chance of proving what she was capable of. Maybe, if she mastered this case, her colleagues would finally acknowledge her as a full on officer and not just that girl. She was sitting comfortably on her office chair, looking down at documents, thinking. A deep breath was taken, then she finally rose her head to have a look at the other girl that was standing opposite her, on the other side of the desk. ❝I wasn’t supposed to tell anyone.❞ And she wasn’t. The case was to be handled carefully, secretly. Too many cooks spoil the broth, they say. Any small mistake caused by anybody involved could ruin it all.  ❝I am sorry you had to find out this way. But you know I take things seriously. If they tell me to keep my mouth shut, I do. And so should you, now that you’re aware of it.❞
