mvttface-mangywclfâ: (Inuyasha)
âTch, donât worry about him. That wolf demon just likes to twist stories for his amusement, but I know he doesnât mean to hurt you.â Inuyasha reassured her, not wanting her to lose any faith or respect for her Uncle. It annoyed Inuyasha, too, but he also knew that Koga cared greatly for Moroha and would never intentionally hurt or lie to her. The stories were meant as a joke, even if they were stupid sometimes. âAnd donât tell him I said that.â He was quick to add, smirking. He didnât need Koga to know that Inuyasha was defending him or saying positive things about him.
Though, it wasnât exactly a secret that Inuyasha did respect and appreciate him. And vise versa. They were just too proud to admit it out loud, despite knowing the truth.Â
It didnât take them long to arrive home and immediately his lips stretched into a smile at the sight of Kagome standing at the door, waiting for them. He could smell the cooked food from within their home and he hoped they hadnât arrived too late⊠again. Though, judging by the calm smile on Kagomeâs safe, Inuyasha figured they arrived just in time.
He chuckled when Moroha jumped from his shoulders to greet Kagome. stopping to watch them with a wide smile on his face - a look of love and admiration in his eyes. Heâd never tire of watching Kagome and their child. His wife and child - heâd never tire of saying, or hearing that, either.Â
To be honest, Inuyasha never thought heâd have any of this. A loving family. And to think he used to want to become a full demon⊠the mere thought made him scoff now.Â
This is what made him happy. This is what made his life perfect. Them.Â
âYou got it, Mama! Then I got something to ask you about!â
He almost forgot about that certain request from his daughter. How she wanted to see him and Koga in battle. Of course, Inuyasha was all for it, any opportunity to kick Kogaâs ass, but Kagome probably wouldnât be so agreeable to itâŠ
His thoughts shifted when Kagome came up to him next, greeting him with a kiss that had the Hanyou melting. He smiled against her lips and hummed in contentment, his hands sliding up her arms and wrapping around her small frame as he returned her kiss. âGuess this means we really arenât late this time, huh?â He teased with a light chuckle, pulling his lips from hers before he looked towards their kitchen.Â
âIt smells great in here, Kagome. Watcha makinâ?âÂ
She instantly seemed to melt into the half-demonâs hold, enjoying the feeling of his contact and kiss back with all of her heart. It made all the stress of the day worth it in the end if her husband and child returned to her safe and sound for family dinner. She really was lucky that the well decided to give her this second chance to be with him, even if it meant having to leave behind. Though, with Towaâs recent reintroduction back into this era, there was still hope for the priestess to see the Higurashiâs once more. And for that, Kagome was very grateful.
âNope, youâre just in time. And I should hope youâll both try to keep being on time from now on. I donât want to have to worry about my husband and child not coming home for dinner if I can help it, Inuyasha.â She responds to the teasing with a smile, despite being serious in her words. No doubt the greatest fear all three of them had was their family getting separated, that something or someone was going to come and tear them apart. So, the two canines being on time for dinner would certainly help Kagome feel a lot better, even if she being on time wasnât always possible for one reason or another. Their effort to do so was appreciated all the same, of course.
âNothing impressive really, just some fish stew.â The priestess speaks, gaze looking back towards the house where she can see through the entrance Moroha hard at work at what she asked. âThe nearby village I helped today with their demon problem wouldnât leave unless I took something, and so they gave me vegetables we donât really grow in the village. I just hope it tastes okay. I havenât ever cooked with these kind of ingredients before.â
Her gaze then sifts back to her husband, looking at him so fondly. If she could, no doubt she could sit in his arms forever. Though, they were both parents who had responsibilities. There would be time for them to have alone time later. For now, Kagome detaches herself from Inuyasha after planting a kiss on his cheek before she begins to move inside. Dinner was just about ready, after all.
âTable is all set, Mama! And the stew looks and smells so good! Iâm starving after all that training with Uncle Koga.â Moroha says just after walking up to her mother, her hair having been taken out of her bow as it now all flowed behind her. She really did look just like them when her hair was down like this, making the priestess smile as she gently ruffles the pupâs hair.
âThank you, sweetie. I appreciate the help. Now, you go to the table with Papa while I serve the meal, okay?âÂ
âOn it! Come on, Papa! Itâs chow time!â The pup then rushes past her mother to go see her father, grabbing his Fire Rat Robe sleeve and tugging it gently. Her voice comes out a hushed whisper though as she leans close to him, not wanting her mother to hear this bit. âThe faster we get to dinner, the faster we can both eat and ask her about the fight! We gotta both make Mama happy so sheâll say yes, okay?â
