@agcntwells Slowly the angel blinks into consciousness, turning renewed hues on the frosted window of their bedroom. He senses the cold outside, the chill of the late morning air driven by shady, grey clouds and he's tired. No, exhausted. He is overworked, stressed, burdened by his duty that never ceases for Death waits not even for its glorified street sweepers. In truth that was all he was. A janitor, a garbage man, a housekeeper for the universe discarding the unneeded and unwanted. There is a weight on his chest, a warmth seeping in to chase away the swarm of locus that plague him. He looks down and a smile warms his features like the sun on hollow castle halls. It never failed to surprise and elate him that he was able to keep hold of her. Liza, his incredibly darling human who stuck with him through all of his moods and crises and still found him worthy of her love. Shifting, he wraps his arms around her and cants his head forward to press a kiss to her hair careful not to wake her as he begins stroking her back.

Depression isn’t always sadness

It’s also feeling numb at 3am but smiling and laughing with friends at 3pm

It’s also not being able to get out of bed even though you were fine the day before

It’s also not eating because you aren’t hungry or can’t be bothered, but also over eating because you’re bored and feel empty

It’s also loving too hard or not at all

Depression isn’t a constant feeling of sadness, depression can be hidden in happiness.

Your depression is valid even if people say it’s not just because you smile
