because she tripped in front of the coolest guy she’s met in a gazillion years. she’d argue, she really would. she’d come up with something to say to the cute comment, but his fingers are on her back and she just… can’t speak right now. 

he smiles even more at her, and he has half a mind to step away from her, give her some space. but there’s another part of him that knows this is the perfect moment - he moves one of his hands to touch her cheek gently, tilting her head to kiss her ever so sweetly.

it’s only then that she realises how close they are. it’s fun to tease Paris about running off into the sunset with Antonio, but she reckons that’s so far away from the truth. Antonio’s the cool vampire with the motorbike, and she’s an awkward clutz who can’t get her act together long enough to settle the fuck down. the only reason he even hangs out with her is because he knows his family won’t like it. she doesn’t step back, though. not yet. “i’m mortified.”

“what for? because you tripped?” antonio only raises a brow at her. and honestly, most of his family is dead. even if they weren’t, he wouldn’t give two shits about what they think. his friends are more important to him than what his shitty family would’ve thought. his fingers drum lightly on her back. “it was an accident, and i think it’s cute either way.”
