I has arrived
So day 11 of being in the UK and life is starting to get rolling
The first week it was very much catching up with family, taking a look around, making plans, applying for jobs....lots of jobs
The past 3 days have been mental I’ve had 3 interviews (2 with recruiters & 1 with an employer)
I must have done really well because I had a job offer within 15min of leaving the interview so yay me...
I definitely feel like I should have been more stressed at the way things have gone. Getting things sorted like bank accounts, NINo has been a lot harder than expected because you have to do it on somebody else’s schedule and when you dont have a car that can be hard. Thank god for my Aunty she has been a god send.
Overall things are ticking along incredibly smoothly the next big task is finding a place to live near my new job. But I’d say thats not too bad considering I haven’t been in the country for 2 weeks yet.
I also have my 3rd cold in 10 weeks and i am less than impressed...
Westminster Abbey & Church ruins in the museum gardens
Walked the streets of York today
Had our personal tour guide handy (thanks Aunty)
Will have to back when we have more time
Dallas it's been fun but now on to the UK
NB: blog posts have been scarce cause Dallas has been all hockey & I didn't wanna expose you poor people to that level of obsession
Sooo made it to dallas
While accommodation has been a bitch I have been to 2 hockey games. We won 1 & lost the other.
My fave player did so well last night 😁
My very limited exposure of Peru
So I've been pretty absent from blogging but I had a very good reason
As you can see from the pic I have had a very ill travel companion
Kelsie came down with altitude sickness pretty much as soon as we landed in Bolivia. By the time we made it to Copacabana it had gotten so bad we took her to the medical centre in town.
24hrs on oxygen & 4 injections later we found out we had to her to lower altitude ASAP.
We went to Cusco, Peru but even there she was suffering symptoms. We made the very hard decision to skip Machu Picchu & take it easy until our flight.
I also came down with a cold around this time.
We are now safely in the states at low altitude so the trip can hopefully continue without anymore issues
Hammock views
Lake side in copacabana
Llamas!
The young one was really aggressive
Just casually waiting on the other side of the lake for our bus to arrive
