I fuckin miss her. I wanted to add some big text to say what i think about 307, JRot etc, but it’s 5.45 am (omg)… I wanted to finish it before sleeping, soooo… I won’t write something big or my english will be mor shittier than it is usually x’D. I hope you guys feel a bit better since “The Day”. That just was the first time i cried so much for a fictional character. Even my gf, who is not a big tvshow viewer, didn’t understand why i cried so much lol…. What a great woman you were, Lexa. What a horrible waste of potential….. What a well written and powerful lady. I’m…. well. I think this is the first time i experienced such horrible manipulation and marketing thing by a tvshow, with all the false hope, the “vancouver trap” etc…. I can understand (a very little…) why they needed Lexa to die. But the WHEN and the HOW is just fuckin awful. Well, all of this is of useless, you guys already wrote all i think about this. I’ll miss you, Leksa kom Trikru. Really. You left a mark on me.

clarke and lexa by numbers

so i have been noticing a lot of comments about how a “certain guest star is getting more screentime than regulars,” and “clexa is taking over the show.” and it started to remind me of the rhetoric that was used re: darren criss/blaine on glee when the storyline had kurt go off to gay hogwarts in S2 for a large portion of show.

now, the 100 has better continuity and storytelling cohesion that glee ever did (which lol i know it’s a low bar). and lexa’s position in the narrative makes for a more organic shift in the decision to devote screentime in polis instead of arkadia or the city of light. it doesn’t feel shoehorned in the way the warblers and blaine did, because lexa has had interactions with characters other than clarke before and she’s the commander of the coalition. comparing the two almost doesn’t seem fair.

however, structurally at their core, these two cases are somewhat similar in that you have a lead in an ensemble show breaking off to a secondary location all themselves for a large part of the season, with much of their allotted screentime shared with a love interest. and i remember that the breakdowns of character screentime really helped parse out the answer to the question: has the guest star taken over our show?

so let’s look at the numbers at clarke and lexa on S3 100.

do they just… carry lexa’s throne around wherever she goes? like that’s definitely the exact same throne that was in the tent when she and clarke first met but now it’s up like 97 floors at the top of the tower in polis. who is in charge of throne transportation? who had to drag it up all those stairs??? that can’t be fun.

but also it’s just pretty inefficient to have her throne room or whatever all the way up there in the first place, like… there are no elevators?? they have to walk up and down all that way every time they want to do anything and maintaining all those stairs when the whole building is pretty much a skeleton must be a lot of work. i know it’s visually cool for her to be able to look out over her entire kingdom a la simba looking over the pride lands (“everything the light touches!!”) but like. damn. that’s a lot of stairs. did roan drag clarke up all those stairs with a bag over her head? did someone carry her? i know this is so not important but it’s just REALLY HIGH UP!!!!

that topmost section is roughly 10 lexas (or one “decalexa,” let’s call it)

once we pan out, we see that the whole tower is a little over 10 decalexas (one “hectolexa”)

1 lexa = 67 inches

100 lexas = 6700 inches = 558′4″ (which is a conservative estimate)
