Ib took gentle steps along the tiled flooring, the mall seemed somewhat similar to her home so being there gave her a sense of familiarity though she didn’t recognize a single shop or even a food stall. There was still so much she hadn’t learned and here she was thrusted into a world of nonsensical madness though the mall gave off the casual sense like the home apartment that was given to her. Though one thing unsettled her about the mall both in her world and this one, each shop that seemed somewhat interesting was lined with mannequins standing in the windows, and whether it was her imagination or not she could feel as if she noticed the heads on them moving to look at her. ‘It’s fake’ she told herself, ‘they can’t move…just like mother said…’ Ib repeated in her mind as her eyes were locked on her feet her eyes didn’t drift up once in fear that one would be in front of her, but this came with it’s own danger. As she walked she lost track of the people around her, the objects, even the things like escalators an benches.
Ib could feel them, she could her it, that horrible scraping sound as the objects moved along the floor, following her, waiting for the moment she let her guard down to do…something she didn’t know what but they’d do something to her! Her breathes increased as the scraping got louder and her pace quickened as to get away without trying to alert anyone that she was running away as if walking would make it so she didn’t attract as many things, visions filled her head and noises filled her ears clouding what she was nearing. Ib could only hear the scraping getting louder the voices were drowned out though she could hear questioning voices, but something told her it was better to ignore the whisper like voices around her. In reality Ib had only been imagining everything, repressed memories coulded her senses and she had been speed walking directly towards the down escalator without letting up on her pace even a little as she neared it. Step after step took Ib further and further and further from the danger in her head, but closer to the danger in reality that was actually going to hurt rather than simply looking back and proving her mind wrong.
Ib stepped right into it, though even as she missed the step her head was still clouded until a loud voice suddenly bombed her sense almost constantly clearing her senses, the only word she heard was ‘kid’ but the hand that reached out to grab her wrist and another with a tight grip on her shoulder that pulled her back to safety was more real than she thought. For a moment Ib was caught it surprise as she didn’t have much time to react to either the danger she had been in nor the stranger pulling her back to safety, it wasn’t until she was put back on her feet and turned to look at the person in the face had she realized what had happened or thought she realized it. “You…saved me?” Ib would ask referring to the imagination that clouded her mind up to that point rather than to the escalator incident she had just been saved from. Ib looked up at the male with eyes that seemed curious and questioning why and how he could have been so brave as to fend of the things she had imagined to be there was beyond her mind even that man wasn’t that brave.
The mall was boring as hell today. Mainly because Akira couldn’t join him, and he really didn’t have any other friends in Wonderland that he was close enough to to just randomly invite them on a random mall trip. So, walking around and just staring at the stores was all he basically did for about 20 minutes before he decided to just sit on a nearby bench and just starting to play on his phone.
“....this is boring as hell...why did I think it was a good idea to go to the mall by myself? ...worst. Decision. Ever.”
Even people watching didn’t bring any fun to his time, and that was usually his last resort when nothing else caught his ADD-like attention-span during the low times. Well, that was before he caught the figure of a...kid? Why in the hell was a kid just by themselves in the mall? Where in the hell were their parents? Ryuji’s protective instincts peaked a little, but he learned to restrain himself and to not just go head first into a situation...Akira might’ve yelled that into him.
Looking at the young girl, Ryuji made sure to never take his eyes off of her, and to make sure that there weren’t any creeps that decided to go near her- but then something weird-ish happened: the girl started to act strange. Looking at her body language...it looked like...a panic attack? She looked zoned out and she was walking faster and faster...and she wasn’t looking where she was going. Seeing that she wasn’t paying attention, and that she was currently walking towards the escalator.
Springing up, Ryuji briskly walked over to the girl, and gently grabbed her wrist to stop her movement.
Ryuji’s eyes reflected the concern that was in his head, and the girl got out of her dazed look...and asked if he saved her? Huh...this was a first.
Smiling a little, “I mean, saving wouldn’t be the right word, but sure kid!”
Moving them out of the line of people, but still in public, Ryuji knelled down to make eye contact with the girl, “So...what’s your name? And where are your parents?”
