this is really late, everything has been very ?? ? ?? ??? ?? ??? kind of? anyhow hi!! i never posted this when i first got here cause i jumped right into the event and then i suddenly got shifted to a new job... excuses, excuses~~ so, if anyone wants to start a thread, either for the event or not, i’m super up for it! i got a bio / a plot page up if anyone wants to take a look. you can reach me either through im or twitter ;; have a nice day!! ♥♥

everything just feels like it’s more than taeyeon can comprehend, still having a difficult time really understanding that this is as much as a war it can get and holy shit how do i stay alive.

 taeyeon has come to the conclusion that if she’s alone she’ll definitely die, but if she’s in too big groups she’ll also definitely die. trying to find something between that has been a battle, while at the same time trying to hide from anything that she’s physically unable to fight herself. because taeyeon is not a fighter, she doesn’t exercise and trying to fight would also just lead to her to go get herself killed. for sure. so she has come to running for her life and hiding, which is really a hit or miss because she’s sure that there’s at least one or two broken bones in her body right now.

 the explosion was sudden and got her separated from her small group of people, and suddenly she’s alone again. trying to get a grip of herself as white noise fills her ears.

she knew that this was bound to happen, somehow at least, because in front of her are two about as equally injured merfolk and with the little strength she has left in her she knows only can help one of them. for the first time, during this whole thing, taeyeon can feel tears burning behind her eyelids and god, can you even cry in water? all she really wants to do now is find a tiny space and crawl into a ball and sob for a few hours, one of those relieving sob sessions would be good about now. but there is no time, and taeyeon ends up pulling at the one to the left, the one she believes looks more like they would need her help.

however she can help, that is.

it’s all a mess of chaos, people screaming and moving around in frenzy, there’s masses of blood floating around.... floating... around...? and once taeyeon remembers that she’s in water, in the ocean, she can feel the panic welling up inside of her and even if she knows she can breathe without a problem - something she had realized earlier - she can feel her breath coming out short. it takes a couple of minutes of grabbing onto the closest firm thing to calm down, and once she has all she can think of is trying to find anyone she knows. and that’s when she sees him moving towards her, fussing over her like she’s a child. in the middle of the confusion she still has the mind to bat his hands away, telling him to not worry.

while taeyeon is aware of the existence of naturals, she has never actually witnessed them or what they can do with her own eyes (what she knows), so this is all quite overwhelming for a human like her. naturals is still such a faraway concept for her. taeyeon is somewhere on the line between thinking a string of ‘what’s and ‘holy shit’s and believing this is actually just a very brutal dream.  minseok begins pulling at her hand, and normally she might protest and want to take the lead herself, but this one time she certainly believes the probability of her staying safe is larger if she just follows his lead.

then it all happens very suddenly, there is a sudden bomb of chaos and confusion and midst of people pushing at each other, taeyeon manages to get lost from the big group together with a few other people. confused she can feel another slight rush of panic go through her, she follows the others in hope of finding a safe place.  after some wandering, they finally find a big group of people, though this time the soldier? merfolk? are clothed a bit different, but upon seeing their small group of confused people they urge them to join and that they will be taken to safety. taeyeon, who’s completely drained of energy at this point, decides to just follow.

and all she can do is hope that her brother is safe. oh god, what if her niece is down here too?

«comforting words»

Minseok’s eyes suddenly opened only to be welcomed by the darkness of his room, the only illumination was seeping through his closed curtains behind him. With that said, the silence would have made his stirring more surreal if it weren’t for the pounding of his heart or the cold sweat that happened to take over his body.

It happened again, the nightmare, scarred from a year ago from the unfortunate event that took place.

Reaching over to his phone revealed that he had only gotten a few hours of sleep and there’d be only a couple hours more before his alarm went off. He might have been drowsy waking up in the middle of the night, but everything else was triggered to a high alert. He sat up from his bed and took a deep breath to try and calm himself down a little, but that didn’t help him too much. The silence was playing tricks with him when he could swear to hear the distant growl of a hostile creature.

He needed to do something, and he couldn’t solve it from staying still, so he got up from his bed and quietly made his way to the kitchen. The living room was on the way there, and with Taeyeon sleeping on the couch, Minseok made sure to mind the noise he made.

Upon reaching for the cup, his weak hands placed it on the counter heavier than he intended, and the loud click of the impact made him swear underneath his breath. Still, he continued on and poured himself a glass of water before glancing back over to the couch.

after her radio broadcast finishes, taeyeon usually prefers to stay there and help the staff with different tasks before heading home. but tonight the workload had been minimal, and the staff had urged her to go home instead of staying there any longer. so, she decided to heed their words and left earlier than usual.

coming home at a time that didn’t feel like the devil’s hour was quite nice, she mused to herself as she lied down on the couch. now, only that was left was to actually fall asleep. which tended to be a struggle on some days.

taeyeon doesn’t know for how long she has been staring at the table that stands in front of the couch before she hears a sound from the kitchen. startled, she sits up and looks around in the dark livingroom, and faintly spots a figure in the kitchen that cannot be her niece.

“minseok ah?”
