Propaganda for every female character who has been thrown into a background lesbian ship with no care for any depth cause being a straight woman is evil in fanficverse i guess (i am not hating on lesbian ships i love lesbian ships with all my heart i just hate when they aren't given the same care as m/m ships and virtually only exist as a way to get female characters """out of the way""" or because they view women being attracted to men as "unwholesome". Please tell me i'm not the only one who's noticed this. Lesbian or headcanon lesbian characters get ignored and flanderized and cardboardified while straight woman characters get overt hate more often. Tell me i'm not crazy)

you're not crazy this is definitely a thing. people headcanon male characters as queer because they like them. but a lot of time when they headcanon female characters as queer it's just to get them out of the way. they're not actually remotely interested in exploring the possibility of the character's queerness, they just want them to not threaten their m/m ships. it's really annoying. also as a femslash enjoyer it tends to just mean that often the tag for a ship i like is dominated by fics that have nothing to do with that ship at all. i hate it.
