summary: yeonho spends his summer days as a part-time barista at a local coffee shop. however, yeonho didnโt realize how heโd always anticipate for you to show up at the coffee shop every day until his co-worker, kangmin, points it out and teases him for it.

โare you looking for that person? again?โ upon hearing kangminโs inquiries, yeonho quickly looks away from the coffee shopโs entrance and pretends to be very focused on wiping the counter with a cloth.
yeonho chooses to ignore kangminโs words, not wanting to admit that he was in fact, hoping you would walk through that door at any given moment. โhyung, just make a move already,โ kangmin whines. โiโm so tired of watching you simp after them.โ
โshh, donโt say it that loud! i was justโฆ checking to see if the windows were clean,โ yeonho fibs, tossing the towel aside and turning to face kangmin. the younger boy crosses his arms across his chest, watching skeptically as yeonho struggled to keep steady eye contact with him.
kangmin lets out a small sigh, uncrossing his arms and going up to replace yeonhoโs spot at the cash register since yeonho had been taking orders for the past hour. โif you donโt make a move on them first, then iโll do it first,โ kangmin says firmly.
the truth was, kangmin didnโt even have the slightest bit of feelings for you. even though kangmin didnโt always outwardly say it, he supported you getting together with yeonho. he just wanted to see yeonho happy, instead of seeing his hyung stressing out over what to say and how to act whenever you stopped by the cafรจ.
yeonho pretends not to be bothered by kangminโs lighthearted threat. of course, yeonho was slightly nervous that kangmin would actually do something like that. hopefully, kangmin wouldnโt follow through with his words. โi know you wouldnโt,โ was all yeonho could say as he let kangmin have a turn to stand behind the register.
a gust of hot summer air floats into the store for a brief moment as you walk into the coffee shop. you liked to come here very often. you usually came here every day of the week except for sundays. sometimes you would come in the mornings before your classes started, and other times you would come in the evenings to finish up homework here.
you found the atmosphere of this particular cafรจ cozy and inviting. plus, there were two baristas here that always remembered your name and your order. yeonho and kangmin.
feeling comfortable with the environment, you casually walk up to the counter to place your order. โhi kangmin!โ you greet the apron-clad boy with a friendly smile. kangmin flashes back with that charming gummy smile of his. โhey y/n!! just the usual today?โ you start to fish out your wallet from the pocket of your jeans. โyes please!โ
as kangmin started entering the price for your drink into the keypad of the cash register, yeonho walks out from a door in the back. he had been in the back of the shop, restocking gallons of milk. the moment yeonho notices your presence, he practically scrambles to the register, running up to stand beside kangmin.
โexcuse me for a quick second,โ kangmin tells you with a smile before he whips around to talk to yeonho. โyouโre being so obvious!โ kangmin whisper yelled at yeonho. not wanting to hear yeonhoโs excuses about why he couldnโt talk to you, kangmin lightly pushes yeonho towards the cash register. โyou take this order.โ kangmin grabs a medium size cup and starts making your drink.
seeing you standing there in front of him has yeonhoโs heart racing. he debates internally if he should try to make you laugh. โhow did henry viii like his coffee?โ you take out a few paper bills, hand it to yeonho, and put away your wallet before giving all of your attention to him. you think for a moment before giving up. โi donโt know, how?
"decap."ย you giggle politely. yeonho tried his best to ignore the snickers that came from behind him. he didnโt even have to turn around to know that it was kangmin. because honestly, who else could it be?
kangmin appears from behind yeonho, putting a hand on yeonhoโs shoulder, and his other hand holding your finished drink. "wow, hyung!! youโre so funny! iโm wheezing right now! hahaha!!โ yeonho makes a mental note to tickle attack kangmin after their shift ended.
yeonho takes the finished drink from kangmin and writes your name on it with a black sharpie. as you were patiently waiting for your beverage,ย you wonder why he was taking so long to write on the plastic cup.ย after a minute, yeonho hands you your dalgona coffee topped with crumbled graham crackers, just the way you liked it.ย โenjoy!โ
you thanked the two boys and left them a generous tip. as you were leaving the counter and heading towards the door to leave, you didnโt fail to catch how kangmin was punching yeonhoโs shoulder. they were probably just playing around or something.
once you were outside, it occurred to you that you hadnโt checked what yeonho had written on the cup. curiously, you hold your cup up to eye level. on the cup, โcall me? xxx-xxx-xxxxโ was written in yeonhoโs handwriting.
you honestly couldnโt decide if yeonhoย or the drink was sweeter.
