I can't believe that some Frozen fans are complaining that Frozen 3 will inevitably "make Anna the main star" and sideline Elsa, as shown in @the-blue-fairie's recent post about fans pitting Anna and Elsa against each other. Just because it's been confirmed that the movie will feature Anna and Kristoff's wedding.

In the first place, we know almost nothing else about the plot. It's silly to jump to any conclusions.

But in the second place, how does it make any sense to talk about "making Anna the main star" as if that were a gross injustice?

In the original Frozen, Anna is the main star. Elsa may be the show-stealer who sings the most iconic song, but Anna is the protagonist. Elsa was originally conceived as the antagonist, while in the finished film, she's the deuteragonist. From the beginning of production, even before the writers decided that Anna and Elsa would be sisters, the core concept of the original movie was "an ordinary girl's love proves to be more powerful than the snow queen's magic." Anna, the ordinary girl, has always been at the center.

I'm sorry, but pretending the whole franchise is supposed to revolve around Elsa is slightly delusional.

Despite all she's been through, Elsa has yet to really understand anything about magic, herself, and her purpose in the world. As with any foray into the unknown, there will be consequences one simply cannot prepare for.

This chapter is like 5 years overdue. I have no excuse.
