I never realized how genius the way the Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days manga gave Roxas his keyblades. Roxas gets the Oathkeeper keyblade after yelling out his promise about going to the beach with his friends when he’s fighting Saix.

Then, after Xion’s heartwrenching death…

…Roxas takes Xion’s keyblade and it becomes the Oblivion keyblade.

Given the meaning behind the names of these two keyblades and the events that occurred, it’s no wonder why Nomura chose these two keyblades for Roxas.

Things KH characters can do we frequently forget

Sora can fly, yes they call it gliding but it’s anything but. Sora can remain suspended in the air forever if uninterrupted.

Sora and Riku have superhuman speed and strength. As noted by Go Go Sora can legit run with enough force and speed to travel up vertical planes. He has blocked attacks that decimated things around him and frequently throws enemies around several times his size. This goes for Riku.

Riku can cast Holy an extremely powerful Light Attack in Final Fantasy.

Mickey and his Wife are powerful mages. Mickey and Minnie both being able to cast Holy (or faith as KH calls it) Mickey can Cast Ultima which is a powerful endgame spell in most FF games. He can also cast powerful Time Magic.

Donald is an extremely skilled Black Mage. Being able to cast powerful spells like Meteor, Flare and famously of all Zettaflare.

Kingdom Key shows some form of sentience, being able to communicate with it’s holder, summon itself forcefully, cast spells on its own and drag it’s holder towards enemies or points of interest as well as deciding for itself who gets to hold it.

Goofy can increase the size of his Shield.

Vanitas can survive as long as his Unversed live even after taking fatal damage. And as shown in a secret boss fight in BBS that exact thing happens with Lingering Spirit. An Unversed with the shape of Vanitas capable of using his Keyblade and skills. As long as an Unversed survives and collects enough negativity, they can reassemble Vanitas as many times as it takes.
