She grasped the basic understanding of the multiverse, but in each one everyone might have been a tad different than the previous, but they all had their own names and things. Sonic practically freezes at Cream's declaration. No, no, no, she couldn't stay here! It was way too dangerous for her! He couldn't handle losing another friend's life, if it were to come to that. He waited as Cream talked about their friends, forcing himself not to interrupt. He was happy to hear it and all but geesh, he was freaking out.

"T--That's good t' hear, Cream!"

Now he'd have to figure out he was gonna say this, he didn't want to hurt Cream's feelings.

"Cream... it would be great t' have your help 'n' all, but I think it would be best if y' go back home. I mean... it's dangerous out here... 'n' I--I don't want y' gettin' hurt."

"Oh…so it IS true. What they said ‘bout him bein’ gone forever now." -He didn’t know why he suddenly felt so upset to hear the other was merely sucked into the book as well. In a sense he hoped that in some other zone, they still had their king, leaving them just like that- because he had to. Was something that always was in the back of his mind. What was truely going on in his world’s version of the book? Were they okay? Were they hurt? Sometimes he wondered that. He could only hope for the best, but slipping past his thoughts, his gaze turned back to the knight, at least, he could ask. Even if it wasn’t the same, he’d feel reassured to know, at least in a zone they were okay.-

"So uh… how are they all doin’? Ya know… Lancelot, Gawain, Percival… all the knights of the round table? Even Nimue… D-Do y’ know if they’re fine? I-I’ve been gone for  a long time so…I don’t know what happen’d to them."

The alternates apparent disappointment at King Arthur's demise only raised more red flags for the knight. Yeah, maybe he felt bad about it initially but when Merlina revealed King Arthur was all an illusion, that feeling disappeared.

"Yeah, I defeated 'im 'n', y'know, he disappeared in a puff o' smoke."

Sonic raises a brow at the hedgehog's next inquiry. He wanted to know how everyone was. He seemed worried about them and oblivious of what was actually going on in Camelot right now. Maybe this guy was legit and really was himself... but that didn't make sense, there couldn't be another one of him.

"Th--They're still helpin' me fight Merlina... if that's what y' call fine."

This land felt strangely familiar somehow, yet he was certain he had not been here before. So far he had passed what appeared to be very old-fashioned dwellings and… was that a castle in the distance? It looked as though it had come straight out of a storybook he might have read long ago.

Ebony ears perked at an unmistakable tone and Shadow faced Sonic, brow furrowing. What did he just call him?

"What are you babbling about, Sonic? I have never worn armour. It would be far too much of a hindrance."

Sonic head tilts to the side, what the heck was Lancelot babbling about? As far as he knew, Lancelot had been a knight since forever.

"Man, everyone's actin' crazy 'round here! You're a Knight, a Knight of the Round Table!"

A thought crosses his mind. Maybe Merlina had done something to these guys! Upon this revelation, Sonic frowns, shutting his eyes tightly with a shake of his head. There was no way...

"...Don't y' remember?"

"W-What are ya talkin’ bout, dude?! I don’t even know what’re ya on bout!" -He was about to ask what the other hedgehog had meant, but realizing the words of the blue knight, his ears twitched in confusing as he raised an eyebrow in confusion. Did he mention Merlina? Wasn’t that the girl who betrayed everyone back at that…book adventure…Was this alternate related to that world?-

"Are you…that Arthur guy or did ya get sucked into that book? Cause I sure do remember that happenin’ to me a long time ago, and boy was it a journey! That talkin’ sword? that was a heck of a time"

Sonic's ear flicks in annoyance. This guy was just playing dumb, trying to trick him. He wouldn't endanger the lives of his friends. Sonic narrows his eyes at the clone.

"I don't wanna have t' hurt y'..."

He kept his eyes on the other hedgehog, noting the look of thoughtfulness on his face. Though, once the other hedgehog responds, Sonic's expression changes to one of surprise. This guy was recalling the Arthurian adventure with fondness and as if he'd already left the book. He visibly flinches at the 'talkin' sword' part, glancing at his own sword, as it wasn't Caliburn.

"Nah, I--I got sucked int' that book. ...King Arthur's been gone for a long time."

Sonic raises a brow as Blaze puts a hand to his forehead. Sick? Why would he b-- well... that was beside the point. He wasn't sick! Sonic then points an accusing finger at Blaze.

Chibi loved wandering the still forest that was Agata Forest. Thought he usually stayed as far away from the water and river as possible. He loved the breeze and the dark calming waves that washed up on the shore. He also loved wandering the trees from time to time. It reminded him of when he lost Kuni to the Bull Head and partnered with Nanami to rescue him.

He tilted his head towards the strange blue creature. It looked like he had never seen Chibi before, but the little Celestial was sure that he had met the strange blue creature before. It was strange, because the black one who had spoken to him, which he had also sworn he had seen twice, had apologized, stating that he had no food.

The little puppy loved food, mostly going to the Mrs. Orange to beg for Cherry cakes. At the moment, no he wasn’t hungry so he shook his head, saying that wasn’t the reason why he barked. Then again, he would probably interpret that as the little wolf pup shaking his fur.

He tilted his head up at the blue creature curiously. Had she gotten his name before? Chibi wasn’t quite sure, but it wouldn’t hurt to try and find out again. Barking up at him as he pointed his paw towards him. Symbolizing he wished to know what his name was.

Sonic looked down at the wolf pup in confusion. It seemed to almost be trying to communicate with him. It looked to shake its head in response to him, might've been a bit of a stretch, but could it really understand what he was saying? Then it barked, directing it's paw towards him.

"Me...?"

It took Sonic a few moments to comprehend what Chibi meant by the paw gesture.

"Oh! 'M Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog. Wha--"

Out of habit he was about to ask the wolf who he was. He dismisses it with a chuckle. It might be able to understand him but it didn't seem to be able to speak.

"Y' can't speak so guess it wouldn't make much sense to ask the same question then, huh?"

-Sonic stared in confusion,the other seemed like he was having some kind of internal dilemma just come up with a greeting. Honestly he was just about to wave and do the usual “Hey dude!”, but judging by his way to speak, he was not a regular alternate at all. At least that’s what it looked like.-

"Hey… uh, name’s Sonic, Sonic the hedgehog. Don’t really have a… master? Yeah just…Sonic. Nice to meet ya, how about ya?" -He just hoped he didn’t come off as weird.-

Sonic's ear twitched. This thing had the audacity to impersonate him right in front of him! The friendliness, Sonic knew it was all a ploy, it had to be. He couldn't -- wouldn't let Merlina trick him again.

"Hah, y' expect me t' believe y're not one'a Merlina's minions? Sh--She probably sent y' t' trick the Knights of the Round Table!"

And suddenly the Arthurian act is gone. Whoops.

"…Um, no, I did not. This is my usual guardian attire, Sonic." She answered him.

Sonic eyes the other with suspicion, he looked almost completely identical to him. This just had to be the work of Merlina's dark magic. He didn't know how she did it but there was just no other explanation!

How was he gonna go about this...? Oh--! What had Percival said to him when they first met? He'd have to get his Arthurian speech going. Thinking over what he was going to say, Sonic clears his throat, a bit unsure of himself but he had his sword at his side if anything went wrong.

Wow, look at all these new people. However there was two that he recgonized. The green one- wait didn’t he just meet him not just a while ago with his brother Mario?

And there was that Blue creature again. However this time he was weilding a sword. Chibi was sure he wasn’t wielding a sword before. The little Celestial was confused, but barked his greeting to the new visitors anyways.

Sonic was wandering through Deep Woods, sword dragging on the ground behind him. Heh, he could just see Caliburn scolding him for such a thing. The thought may have brought a faint smile to his muzzle, but that didn't help the fact that Caliburn was gone.

As for why he was here? Sometimes he just needed to get away from everything and it was, for the most part, safe from any of Merlina's Knights of the Underworld or whatever thanks to Nimue's magic. Deep Woods may not be the prettiest place, but Sonic liked it and it served as a peaceful little stroll.

Sonic probably wouldn't have even noticed the wolf pup watching him had it not barked at him. Sonic inched closer to the pup, at first glance it seemed to have pure white fur, but he could definitely see some sort of red markings too. Shame a little wolf pup was stuck in this place.

"Ah, sorry little guy, I don't got any food for y' or anything..."

Sonic's breath caught in his throat at the sight of "Percival", she'd gotten a new outfit it seemed, one that made her painstakingly identical to Blaze back at home. It was rare to see her-- well, any of the Knights without their armor on. He closes his eyes with a subtle shake of his head before responding.

"Yo, Percival! ...Nah, I just... noticed y' got... some new threads!"

Maybe he would've commented on the fact that it was dangerous to wander around Camelot without her armor on, but he was too surprised at her appearance for it to even cross his mind.

{/In all honesty his confidence was a huge mood booster to her. But still, he was only a hedgehog. And he could still get hurt. Just like everyone else could, like Knuckles or Shadow did.}

{/As he began to describe the people he came to know in this….Camelot place, she only looked more confused by the second. They looked like their friends, but they weren’t? She had heard of…different worlds. But still she just got confused more than anything.}

Gee, Sonic could see the confusion on Cream's face. Admittedly, it was confusing for him too... but he had gotten used to it after mistaking them for his own friends initially.

Sonic has to force a smile at the Green Hill Zone question. He definitely wanted to come back, hoped he would but he couldn't leave Camelot in such disarray because of his mistake. His failure. He had to rectify it before leaving...

"Eventually! Got some unfinished business t' take care of over here first!"

Man, he wished Cream hadn't ended up over here, it was kinda dangerous... especially for his little pacifist rabbit friend. He hoped nothing bad was happening back home while he's been gone. And if it was... well, he'd feel even more guilty.

"Everythin' been good back home? Nothin' crazy?"

{/Wait a moment. Her fears were all for nothing? So Sonic…was stuck in Camelot? She had never heard of the place. So at his inquiries, she just shook her head gently. Her mother had read her tales of princesses, and dragons in made up places. But never stories entertaining the idea of Camelot.}

{/She couldn’t tell him not to fight. Sonic was who he was, and sadly, that was a confrontational person. But the least she could do was worry about him when he was doing things he shouldn’t be. Like getting hurt with swords.}

Sonic, himself, didn't know if he believed that last statement. He might as well try to ease Cream's worrying, though he doubted he could follow through on it.

"I'll try t' be more careful, for y', alright?"

Her last question. As much as he wished he could say 'yes', it wasn't true. They were there, but at the same time not. A small frown, he missed his friends.

"Kinda, but-- not really. ...They look like themselves, but they're different guys. Like, Nimue, she looks like Amy but she's not. Shadow is a Knight of the Round Table named Lancelot. As for Tails, he's the Blacksmith. I dunno about Big, though, haven't seen 'im."

Did that make sense? He hoped it did.
