@graveyarddirt / @msgraveyarddirt, re your shock at a 23 pound Turkey: You might be freaked to know the size of the average American Turkey has exceeded 30 kbs- and the average Chicken, almost 7 lbs.

And American Turkey (broad breasted whites) can’t mate on their own and have to be artificially inseminated and aren’t suppose to live past 6 months old unless on a strictly controlled diet. It’s pretty horrid.

Which is why we raise heritage breed turkeys who are closer to their wild brethren! I cooked a wonderfully healthy 8.5 lb turkey this year. And I’ve had my matriarch for four years and now and she’s my favorite.

Is that lady a royal palm? We've raised those birds before, so sweet when raised properly, but one of ours tried to take out my eye.

Libby is so lovely how is she doing !

She's getting really big! I'll post some pictures soon. She has her lovely white splashes and overall a very sweet and happy go lucky heifer. She definitely drinks more milk then she can handle though haha.

Her mom actually head-butted me in the forehead yesterday (my fault.) So I've been a bit out of it since, I'll definitely post some pictures though :)

I don't think I've introduced you to Storm either! He is a colt, born late February 2020. He was quite a surprise because we didn't know his mom was pregnant, he's been our corona pony, kind of a hormonal mess, but I love him. Dam is Elzari, sire is Skye Pony.

I have the privilege of baby sitting these adorable babies for a few days, this is Penguin (Left) and Apricot (Right). They are Fuey and Crows siblings :)
