fresh recollection from tonight's mcr show in florence because i am insane and also i did that with ghost too so why not (under the cut)
got stuck in a train door but also made a friend on the way to florence (hello new mutual if you read this i really enjoyed hanging out with you)
the queue was unbearable. hottest hours of the day and i finished my drink like half an hour in and couldn't get another until we actually got in the venue like 2 hours later. but i made another friend there so it was fine
we got a decent spot in the beginning (we were in golden circle) but the visibility wasn't the best, especially in the B stage set (which was on the main stage due to rain), thank god for screens
interpol is better live than studio, also their guitarist. hear me out.
they played mr blue sky before coming out on stage it was a nice touch i think
the whole stage setting (screens and lights etc) is INCREDIBLE. beautiful.
also i still don't believe they are real people. like. i've seen them. they were literally there. they can't be real.

gerard's voice was ON FIRE and the whole band played so well
i started screaming my lungs out on EVERY SONG so bad i almost fainted during the mama bridge (a dagger etc) and got super mad i didn't see it properly BUT the people around me were so sweet and gave me some mineral salts to put in my water and i got back up before the end of the song. then i had to get back down and i missed the bit when they played tic tac toe in the body outline on the floor :( (by sleep i was fine tho)
i think i cried the most over welcome to the black parade which is actually crazy for me because it's not even amongst my favourites but i guess it just Moved me. also it's like Their song so.
gerard is so beautiful. i wish i had been closer to see him better but on the screen. wow. girl i kinda want you. ray toro is also beautiful he has THE most luminous smile. they're all beautiful.

famous last words killed me but i was still getting back together from whatever happened during mama so i didn't cry as much
gerard kinda bounced on it during blood. whatever i'm normal about it. it was really fun and also the fake blood pressure is so high gerard was SOAKED. also she swung the clerk's intestines like a lasso that was fun
we got baited about having a B stage then they saw it was about to storm and got back on the main stage. it was at that moment i completely lost all visibility to the stage.
insane ass setlist, nothing new BUT they played bury me in black, honey, ambulance AND party poison. batshit crazy
GERARD MADE US SING HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO RAY TORO IT WAS SO SWEET we could see his big smile on the screens it was adorable
it started storming on cemetery drive and it looked absolutely poetic. i think the universe saw them playing tonight and said "you know what. they deserve this incredible memorable moment." and made it happen. it also stopped before the show ended. absolute cinema.
they ended the show on im not ok AND frank brought out his son miles who was absolutely frightened (poor boy i get him) and uttered the tiniest "trust me" ever. so sweet.
i have to repeat the fact that they played fucking flawlessly and the energy was UP i couldn't have guessed this heat had this effect on them. i feel so lucky
i don't think i've ever screamed this loud in my life, it was very cathartic (im sorry to the people that were in front of me) but i also completely fucked up my vocal chords. my throat hurts. but also i Had to scream like when you go see my chemical fucking romance you can't be quiet.
so, in terms of visibility, my own health, heat, venue organization and distance from the stage gorillaz is still the best show i've ever been to BUT. despite everything i had to endure. this was THE best thing ever. i've literally seen mcr. live. for real. and they played beautifully and i screamed along to my favourite songs. and we got cemetery drive under a storm. and i made friends. that was insane i want to treasure this night forever.
