However, direct financial assistance is, at this critical time, the only thing those of us not on the ground in Gaza can do to give Nader and his family the toold for survival. His father needs medical attention, they all need food and water and of course survival is not enough: he deserves reprieve and happiness and most of all rest.
Nader is a light in the dark. I have not met many so willing and ready to see the love and kindness and beauty in the world–even when so much has been taken from him. when he lost his home, when his life was forever altered, when his sadness seems to overtake him...we talk and he remains totally non-cynical. He continues an embrace of all good things. It's not that he doesn't feel that pain, no. He cares so much. He is wildly empathetic, and young but quite wise. He is a good friend of mine.

A Department of Justice memo says certain standards under the Prison Rape Elimination Act do not align with Trump’s executive order
The planned changes to PREA specifically target rules regarding how trans and intersex people are screened for their risk of sexual abuse at a facility, as well as how facilities use that information to determine where trans and intersex prisoners are housed. The memo also threatens trans and intersex people’s ability to shower separately from other prisoners.
The changes are not yet official, but you can read more about the acquired memo here (link) and insight from legal rights organizations like ACLU and Just Detention International (link).

Sometimes a thing happens where it's really hard to say anything without sounding like some right wing asshole, but I'm going to try my very best.
Some of y'all seem to have short memories, but it must've been close to a decade ago when "pedophiles are as oppressed as the queer community" was a 4chan psyop. It was an attempt at reframing a dangerous right wing talking point as progressive language. That shit is dangerous, and especially so when the right wing is trying to muddy the waters about what constitutes pedophilia both as a means to attack trans people and to run cover for the obvious pedophile president.
If you see someone try to advocate for pedophile acceptance in the queer community, if they are actively stating that pedophile is an opressed identity, you report and block them. You do not engage. And please do not use this to start attacking trans people you personally don't like.

this is never gonna happen until you guys acknowledge transmisogyny and make a point to consciously oppose it. cis women have made enough material and cultural gains that a great many of them now feel more or less comfortable within the patriarchal restrictions that still remain on their lives. they're no longer the main engine of social change. you need to turn your eyes to the women who live on the actual margins of society, who are most forcefully being targeted by the fascist resurgence — and that's trans women.
Unironically this deflection of who upholds societal oppression onto so called "deviants" is one of the most powerful safeguards for those who actually uphold this societal oppression. Someone who has a CNC kink being blamed for misogyny is ridiculous when like every one of your male family members is 100000000000% more contributing to it.
when you're a racialised person in a white country, you've already been accused of being a sex predator. there's journals & tv channels writing about brown/black rape gangs & child sacrifice rings. there's a few dozen politicians running on the policy of "exterminating genetic criminals". many of us think that the solution to this is to posture even harder against sex predators, even accuse other marginalised peoples of being the real sex predators, so that no white person could possibly mistake you as one. but the reality is they're throwing sticks of dynamite at you and you're just passing down the dynamite to more vulnerable people while they keep piling dynamite on you because they want to blow you up. you have to actually fight against white supremacy and for real effective youth liberation, transfeminism etc etc. instead of conceding on the terms of the hegemonic society designed to eliminate you
