Hi, or like, whatever.
Hope it’s not too late for an introduction. I’m a writer in progress, not quite there yet. I’ve had the aspiration to write for the longest time, but had only recently taken writing seriously. I’m like, so not serious or anything.
At the time i am posting this, I’ve only just began committing to finish my first story! So I might find solid writers a bit intimidating.
When I doomscroll, I open twitter and tumblr side by side so I can have more social media per social media
On writing sexual tension
⊹ standing too close. like just barely not touching. why are their shoulders breathing on each other??
⊹ conversations that sound normal but feel like foreplay. “pass the salt” has never been so loaded.
⊹ one of them says something flirty and the other freezes for 0.2 seconds like “oh.”
⊹ eyes dropping to lips and then—back up. with effort.
⊹ holding eye contact just a little too long. like... are they gonna kiss or duel??
⊹ unintentional physical contact that lasts one second too long and now they’re both broken
⊹ a hand on the small of the back. that’s it. that’s the tweet.
⊹ tension so thick that other characters start noticing like “hey are you two okay?” (they are not)
⊹ “accidental” sleepovers. “oh no there’s only one bed.” yeah. suuuure.
⊹ biting back a smile. biting back a moan. biting anything really.
⊹ one of them walks away and the other has to physically restrain themselves from watching the hips
⊹ lots of sighing. frustrated sighs. horny sighs. “i want to kiss you but I’m emotionally unavailable” sighs.

if you’re wondering why spellcheck and grammar check is worse now, it’s because they replaced it with AI! 🥰
now, instead of maintaining a comprehensive, nuanced, and human-maintained encyclopedia by which to check your document, they have switched to an AI that just compares what you’ve written to what other people write in, say, Google Docs, and use the most commonly used iteration.
ever have it change something like “all intents and purposes” to “all intensive purposes” or “should’ve” to “should of”? that’s why!
people make the same spelling and grammar mistakes so often, AI thinks that’s the way you say it because it is a PATTERN DETECTOR and cannot THINK let alone use language.

Fellow writers, I have submitted my writing for critique and it had one line of bad grammar. I lost massive aura 😢

Imaging thinking actual human writers are Not Real because they use... professional writing in their works.
