This was the #1 book on my list for a long time. During my last year of college I studied abroad in Lower Saxony and I wanted so badly to find a copy of Harry Potter in Plattdeutsch but had no luck. A year later I went back to visit and again… no luck. My wonderful parents managed to find a copy somehow and gave it to me for Christmas!
On my way home from France I spent a few days in London! I got to see The Cursed Child (I definitely prefer it live to reading it) and I got to stop platform 9 ¾ where I got my Hufflepuff cover!
This book has been in my closet for a few years- I bought it while traveling through Amsterdam and Belgium on my way home from Uganda
This is my new favorite Harry Potter cover! I spent a weekend in Stockholm to see the Phantom of the Opera in Swedish and celebrate my birthday. If I weren't traveling carry-on only I probably would have brought all 7 back
During my first week of living in Nantes, I stumbled across this in what was going to become my favorite book store. I spent money I was supposed to be spending on things to set up my kitchen, but who needs food when you can have Harry Potter books in Breton? I’m glad I did… After 10 months it’s the only copy I saw.
Purchased during a trip to Lisbon in February.... I absolutely fell in love with this city and can't wait to go back (hopefully this time with a little more Portuguese)
I purchase this one (One of my Top 5 books to find!) this year when I spent New Years Eve in Dublin. It was not as hard to find as I’d expected, but the sales clerk did look at me funny and asked if I knew it wasn’t in English
This is the most effort I've put into finding a specific copy. Over the Christmas break I spent a few days in Luxembourg and has no luck at all finding this book. I've been back to Luxembourg again and still did not see it in any book stores. I thought that, because I had been to the country, maybe I could cheat a little an order it online... but I couldn't find it on eBay or amazon. Finally, I looked up the publisher, contacted them in my not-nearly-good-enough French, explained the situation to the very helpful but amused people at my French bank and a few weeks later it appeared in the mail! So this particular book is both a souvenir of a wonderful weekend in Luxembourg and an adventure of explaining to multiple people in a language I barely speak why I want a copy of a book in another language that I don't speak at all.
Finally found a bookstore while passing through Kampala! There’s no “ugandan edition”, and unfortunate no translations into local languages here, but I now have one of the new British covers! Purchased Friday 10/7/15
