and last but not least the fantabulus vintage one panel doors I found. They did not come with locksets but I was lucky enough to find these rubbed oil bronze locksets with glass knobs and a skeleton key (see it??) at #theHomeDepot.

We opted not to replace the tub and just install a walk in shower. I can’t remember the last time I used a bathtub and we’re planning on placing a claw foot tub in our 1st floor bathroom when we start that project.
Some after photos of our 2nd floor bathroom. Dresser turned vanity with a vessel sink ... love Love LOVE! Octagon flooring and vintage inspired farm house baseboards. Tongue and groove car siding placed on the ceiling with 4″ pine crown molding. Not quite complete just yet!
Gutted 2nd floor bathroom
Before photos of our 2nd floor bathroom.
From nasty and rotten to new and secure. Our new back entrance (well until we completely MOVE the back entrance to another location on the back of the house but that's a project down the road). Progress thanks to Alex of Double A Carpentry!!
An elegant 1940's "Joerns Bros. of Stevens Point, Wis. four piece bedroom set which is carved in the French manner. This set comprises of a full size bed, wall mirror and tall chest/high boy and night stand.
Quality American made vintage furniture. Embossed pulls are original on dovetailed drawers. So much prettier than the photos depict.
Our first planked wall at the top of the stairs! Wood work still to be installed and all to be painted white still. Just had to share!
Buffet with original Mahogany finish top. Glass top included. Media Center, buffet, side board. She will enhance any room you place her in. Body painted in ASCP Old White, clear waxed and lightly distressed. x posted with P/U in Plainfield (Route 59 & Theodore) 59-1/2"W x 21"D x 36-1/2"H ~ $475
This is happening !!!!!!! We’ve gutted our second floor bathroom and the vision of a farm house style bathroom is in the works.
Our new home adventure began with not only a list full of inspirational visions floating through our heads but a priority to do list a list a mile long. First things first as Chicago 2014/2015 Winter was getting ready to blow in usually with heavy wet snow and ice. Just to the right of our home was a pine tree and another very ugly tree. Both tall, very tall and cut and hacked over so many years around the cables it was growing in to. I could envision them laying on the cables then SNAP!! This is where Angie's List came to play. I contacted and hired a tree service to remove the unruly greenage just at the corner of our house. Our house?? There's a house in the first photo?? Why yes, there is! Surprise!!!
I've been SO busy! I work full-time, I paint furniture and sell to be loved once again in it's lifetime along with home decor through my FB page and groups. I rent space in a wonderful antique store to showcase my treasures ... AND last November we purchased a new home. A foreclosure, cash. It needs so much renovating and we're having a blast. I hope you travel along our newest adventure. I wear myself out! Here is a photo of her in her present state and I will post photos of just a few of the small things we've started on! I would love your support, your love and your blessings. Oh, and send money! lol
We had no window trim whatsoever on our windows in our home ... my son remedied that for me. I described what I wanted for the baseboards as well as the window trim and he made all the window trim himself! Loving the new look .. so bright, fresh and farm house looking!!
The farm house baseboards fake out! We added a 1-1/2" chair rail from The Home Depot approximately 1" above the existing builders grade colonial oak baseboard and then just painted the entire area! Voila ... Vintage or farm house thick baseboards throughout the house for a fourth of the cost of replacement!
I promised some DIY a while back and we're so behind but I wanted to get a few photos of our progress posted. We've replaced our builder grade carpet with hickory laminate flooring in the great room, kitchen, hallway and foyer. My son Jeffrey Waver is in the trades and I hired him to do the work for me. We chose Traffic Master Hand Scraped Saratoga Hickory Glueless Laminate Flooring. We loved the rugged look and the extra wide planking.
A before and after of an antique table that was so abused but now she's standing tall again! I stained the top with General Finishes Java Gel Stain and painted it with General finishes Linen Water Based Milk Paint. It was sealed with General Finishes High Performance Water Based Top Coat Flat. It has been placed in my booth at Rejoyce Design and Consign in Oswego, IL.
My booth restocked at The Rusty Rooster Old and New in Sandwich, IL. The Duncan Phyfe Table and 6 Chairs in the center of my booth sold today! Yes happy dancing it's found a new home in a new home!
