Fun?
I hate when someone asks me, “are you ready to have fun tonight?!”Â
How in the hell is being tired, sweaty, covered in grease, being yelled/bitched at by awful customers, and hardly making any money FUN? Â
OMFG
Say THANK YOU when I give you your food. Â
I’m not just some automatic floating hand that drops off your food.  I am a person with feelings.  That is all.  Thank you.
I hate when it’s extremely busy and an annoying customer tells me, “It’s busy today!” and I say, “I know :/” and then they say, “But that’s good. It’s good for business.”
And I’m just thinking, “Fuck business. I could care less. I get paid the same amount whether it’s slow or busy.”
There was a tornado warning last night in the same area as my work! There were tornado sirens going off. The managers didn't really care. I guess bringing in a few extra dollars is more important than safety.
The owner at the restaurant I work at is insane! We now have to keep the lights really dim to a point where you strain your eyes trying to see the menu. If a customer asks for us to turn the lights up we have to tell them no. Now isn't that great customer service?
Omg seriously!
When I ask how many are in your party it’s not because I was just curious, like I asked for my own amusement. I ask because I need to know before I seat you. When I said, “How many? 2?” That wasn’t your queue to go seat yourselves at a random table. Omg!
Working Hard
aka standing around, being lazy, and gossiping with the other hostess all night.
3 day weekend! Yay!
I hate when people don't even look at me when I say, "Thanks! Have a good day!"
I hate when people assume things, like they can have a booth, or they can use our restroom without eating here, or they can come in and get change for the parking meter. I mean, really?
Nooooooooo!!!!
I have to work a double tomorrow! :(
5-10 minute wait
"But there are open tables! This is ridiculous!"
Phone rings "Do you have breakfast tacos?" "Uhh no..." "Do you know what restaurant has breakfast tacos?" "No...sorry..."
Just because I work at a restaurant doesn't mean I'm the restaurant fairy who knows which restaurants sell what!
I hate being on a wait because all the customers stare at me, silently judging me, and frequently ask me how much more time it will be until they are sat.
Omg this lady today thought she would have to make a reservation to place a to go order. Wtf???
•If l say “I’ll be right with you.” It means I am doing something, probably seating the people that were here before you. Do not start telling me what you want. I will be able to help you in five seconds.
•If there are people that are here before you, I will be helping them before you.
•There’s...
Omg we have booths in our bar area too and people ALWAYS seat themselves in them after telling me they are going to the bar. It's so annoying!!
