one surprising thing about working in eighth grade these days is the number of boys who either are or have the potential to become Nice Young Men. of the population I work with (mild/mod special ed, so mostly ADHD/l1 autism/mood disorders) I can't think of a single boy I felt was a true blue misogynist— some who definitely seemed vulnerable to those ideas, sure, but none for whom it was set in stone

Apologies for the lack of posts recently! Been busy with work recently and there’s only so much I can delve into the details of that without compromising client confidentiality.

I do have to say though, I am enjoying the work. There’s something just really great about working on buildings that I recognise, like I’m making a tangible impact on the world.

Bonus points: I used to cry like, all the time at my old job. I’m now six months in to the current one and I haven’t cried once yet :)

Anyway, I’ve gone and booked some days off work for the Easter break- just two days really to extend the long weekend the public holiday gives us. I’ve been making a list of tasks I want to get done during that time off including some hobby related stuff and giving my car a good clean. I love the mint green colour of my car but the paleness of the shade does mean it shows dirt easily lol.

feeling: i was sleepy this morning, but we are getting everything done. i also got this frog mothman plushee from a friend. i love him.

100 Days of Productivity | 29/100

Aug. 22 | Learned about the 3-3-3 Method today, where you spend 3 hours focused on one main project or larger task, then prioritize 3 “urgent” sub-tasks (meetings, re-filing), and then aim to complete 3 “maintenance” tasks (going for a workout class, sending emails). I’m looking forward to learning if that works for me!

Let’s talk about Joe.

So, two years ago it was my honour and privilege to work alongside a fantastic crew of creatives as we returned to my hometown and made a difficult short film about my family, and more importantly my brother. It was hard, it was moving, and the hours in the car and editing room were gruelling but I like to think well worth it.

Now on my brothers 25th birthday I thought would be a good time to share it publically to the world, and a great time to once again thank my amazing crew for the amazing work they did in helping bring my brother back.
