He squinted in confusion, nose wrinkling when he was called an ass. “An ass?” He tilted his head in questioning. “An’ I am confused— confused over what you’re talkin’ about right now. We’ve…” He trailed off when he spotted the bird mess on the girl’s shirt, at which point he didn’t hesitate to remove a packet of tissues from his pocket and offer them (albeit slightly awkwardly) out to her. “For er, that.”
There was a pause. She was taken aback by the simple gesture, but she took the tissues with gratitude and a small smile before wiping the remaining mess off her shirt. “Uh… thanks.” For the most part, she now had a partially clean shirt. Despite their earlier exchange of words, she could look past it. He seemed genuinely nice, which was quite odd compared to his previous demeanor. “What’s your name?” She was trying to make this less awkward for them both. If they were on first name basis, then perhaps it would be easier. “I’m Myla.”
